2017 GMC Yukon Denali Xl Problems

Owner-reported complaints filed with NHTSA, grouped by component

Data refreshed

Owner complaintsComplaints are reports submitted to NHTSA by owners and drivers. NHTSA does not verify most reports before publishing them, and a complaint does not establish that a defect exists. Volume is influenced by how many of a vehicle were sold, how long it has been on the road, and how much attention an issue has received.

What this page shows

Everything below is an owner-reported complaint submitted to NHTSA about the 2017 GMC Yukon Denali Xl, grouped by the component NHTSA recorded on the report. These are not confirmed defects, and they are not recalls. NHTSA does not verify most reports before publishing them, and a category with more reports in it is not evidence that a part is defective.

Complaints are reports submitted by owners and drivers to NHTSA. They are not verified and do not establish that a defect exists.

HAD THIS VEHICLE FOR NINETEEN MONTHS, 50,000 MILES, BROUGHT NEW, RIGHT BRAKE WORKS INTERMITTENTLY OR NOT AT ALL. THESE LIGHTS ARE COMPLETELY SEALED AND LIGHTS ARE NOT REPLACEABLE, EXCEPT REVERSE BULB. GONE OVER 30,000 MILES SO WARRANTEE NOT COVERED. DEALERSHIP WANTS RIDICULOUS PRICE FOR REPLACEMENT. WHY WOULD YOU DO THIS? LIGHTS NEED TO BE CHANGED SOONER OR LATER? ISN'T IT EASIER TO CHANGE A BULB RATHER THEN AN ENTIRE EXPENSIVE UNIT?

TAKATA RECALL - THE VEHICLE IS CONSTANTLY STATING THAT THE SIDE DETECTION IS TEMPORARILY UNAVAILABLE. WHEN DISCUSSING WITH THE DEALERSHIP THEY STATED THAT THEY ARE AWARE OF THE PROBLEM AND IT IS HAPPENING WITH ALL THE MODELS THAT HAVE SIDE DETECTION SENSORS. THE SENSORS ARE FAILING AND WILL LEAD TO THE VEHICLE NOT STARTING AT ALL IF IT IS NOT REPAIRED IN A TIMELY MANNER AFTER SEEING THE NOTIFICATION ON THE DASH. THEY ARE REQUIRING THE CUSTOMERS TO PAY FOR THE REPAIR EVEN THOUGH IT IS SOMETHING THAT IS A KNOWN PROBLEM ACROSS MODELS AND NOT SPECIFIC TO ONE MODEL VEHICLE.

Higher-selling and older vehicles accumulate more reports. Counts are not failure rates and are not directly comparable between vehicles that sold in very different numbers.
