The defect: CERTAIN MOTOR HOMES BUILT ON WORKHORSE CHASSIS MAY HAVE BEEN EQUIPPED WITH INCORRECT STEERING INTERMEDIATE SHAFTS. THE SPLINE CAN STRIP WHILE THE STEERING WHEEL IS BEING TURNED.
The risk: THIS STEERING CONDITION COULD RESULT IN A LOSS OF STEERING CONTROL, INCREASING THE RISK OF A CRASH.
The remedy: WORKHORSE IS CONDUCTING THIS RECALL (PLEASE SEE 06V148). THEY WILL INSPECT AND, IF NECESSARY, REPLACE THE STEERING INTERMEDIATE SHAFT FREE OF CHARGE. OWNERS MAY CONTACT WORKHORSE AT 1-877-294-6773 OR GULF STREAM AT 1-574-773-7761.

TL*THE CONTACT OWNS A 2007 GULF STREAM SUN SPORT. ON THREE DIFFERENT OCCASIONS, WHILE DRIVING BETWEEN 30 AND 70 MPH, THE RESONATOR ON THE MOTOR KEEPS SEPARATING. THE VEHICLE WAS TAKEN TO THREE DIFFERENT DEALERS FOR REPAIR. THE CONTACT STATED THAT HE HAS A NEW MOTOR HOME AND WOULD LIKE IT TO WORK AS A NEW VEHICLE SHOULD. THE DEALERS THAT REPAIRED THE VEHICLE STATED THAT HE WOULD HAVE TO INSTALL A NEW RESONATOR IN THE VEHICLE EVERY FIVE THOUSAND MILES. THE CONTACT WAS ALSO INFORMED THAT HE SHOULD PURCHASE THE PART AS A SAFETY PRECAUTION IN CASE OF AN EMERGENCY. THE CURRENT MILEAGE WAS 12,058 AND FAILURE MILEAGE WAS 6,000. *UPDATED 12/12/2007 *BF THE DEALER REPLACED THE RESONATOR. *JB
