The defect: ON CERTAIN TOURING AND POLICE MODEL MOTORCYCLES, THE 40 AMP MAIN CIRCUIT BREAKER CAN "OPEN" FOR REASONS OTHER THAN WHICH IT WAS DESIGNED, CAUSING AN UNEXPECTED INTERRUPTION OF ALL ELECTRICAL POWER TO THE MOTORCYCLE.
The risk: THIS CONDITION COULD CAUSE THE MOTORCYCLE TO STALL, WHICH COULD RESULT IN A CRASH.
The remedy: DEALERS WILL REPLACE THE CIRCUIT BREAKER. OWNER NOTIFICATION BEGAN APRIL 23, 2004. OWNERS SHOULD CONTACT HARLEY-DAVIDSON AT 1-414-343-4056.

The defect: VEHICLE DESCRIPTION: MOTORCYCLES. THE ENGINE CAM BOLT CAN LOSE ITS CLAMP LOAD AND/OR BREAK.
The risk: THIS CONDITION CAN CAUSE THE ENGINE TO QUIT RUNNING WITH OR WITHOUT PRIOR WARNING. IN SOME INSTANCES, THE ENGINE COULD RUN ERRATICALLY BEFORE QUITTING.
The remedy: DEALERS WILL REPLACE THE ENGINE CAM BOLTS AND WASHERS.

THIS CAM BEARING ISSUE IS WELL-KNOWN AMONG HD TWIN-CAM OWNERS. MY BEARING BEGIN TO CAUSE THE ENGINE TO VIBRATE EXCESSIVELY SO THAT I TOOK IT TO THE DEALERSHIP WHERE I HAVE IT SERVICED TO GET THEM TO RIDE IT. THE TECHNICIAN DECLARED THAT IT WAS INDEED THE CAM BEARING AT FAULT. HARLEY-DAVIDSON REPAIRED THE ENGINE WITH NO EXPENSE TO ME. MY REASON FOR REPORTING THIS INCIDENT IS TO ADD TO THE NUMBERS SO THAT MAYBE HARLEY-DAVIDSON WILL ISSUE A RECALL SO THAT THERE WILL BE NO UNNECCESARY ACCIDENTS/DEATHS.

SERVICE BULLETIN M1534: Police – Speaker Bracket. PURPOSE: This bulletin is to inform dealers that Harley-Davidson has identified Police models that have an obsolete bracket (Part No. 76000856) installed, which can damage the front fender while operating. Replacement of any obsolete brackets is required. Motorcycles Impacted: Any Police Motorcycle could be impacted. Key Dates: New replacement parts began shipping 8/1/2021.
