2007 Harley-Davidson Flhrs Problems
Owner-reported complaints filed with NHTSA, grouped by component
Data refreshed
What this page shows
Everything below is an owner-reported complaint submitted to NHTSA about the 2007 Harley-Davidson Flhrs, grouped by the component NHTSA recorded on the report. These are not confirmed defects, and they are not recalls. NHTSA does not verify most reports before publishing them, and a category with more reports in it is not evidence that a part is defective.
Complaints are reports submitted by owners and drivers to NHTSA. They are not verified and do not establish that a defect exists.
Reports by component
Ranked by how many owner reports name each component category
- Engine125.0%
- Other / unspecified125.0%
- Powertrain (other)125.0%
- Transmission125.0%
Percentages are of component mentions. A single complaint can name more than one component, so these do not sum to the total complaint count.

NEW 2007 HARLEY-DAVIDSON MOTORCYCLE RUNS SO HOT THAT AT NIGHT THE EXHAUST MANIFOLD GLOWS CHERRY RED. THIS IS A SAFETY HAZARD. TRANSMISSION CLATTERS AND WHINES. DEALER REFUSES TO ADDRESS EITHER CONCERN. *NM

I RECENTLY PURCHASED A 2007 HARLEY DAVIDSON FATBOY. FORMERLY HD HAD BEEN HAVING PROBLEMS WITH THE SOLID FRONT AND REAR WHEELS ON THEM. IT SEEMS THAT THEY CATCH A LOT OF WIND WHICH CAN PUSH OR PULL THE BIKE SIDE TO SIDE. IN 2007 THEY PUT HOLES IN THEM TO LET WIND THROUGH, IT DIDN'T WORK. WHEN YOU GET ON THE INTERSTATE, IT'S AN ALL AROUND BATTLE JUST TO STAY ON THE ROAD. WHEN YOU PASS A TRACTOR TRAILER IT'S ALL YOU CAN DO TO HOLD THE BIKE IN THE ROAD. PLEASE TAKE A LOOK AT THIS PROBLEM BEFORE SOMEONE GETS HURT. *JB

Powertrain (other)
Powertrain reports that are not specifically the engine or transmission — driveshafts, axles, transfer cases and differentials.
From owner reports, verbatim
DURING THE THREE PREVIOUS TRIPS TO WORK ON MY BIKE I HAD THE SHIFTER COME LOOSE. APPARENTLY INSIDE THE TRANS ITSELF, BECAUSE ON THIS TRIP MY SHIFTER DROPPED TO THE FLOOR BOARD AND I HAD TO LIFT IT UP WITH MY TOE TO DOWNSHIFT. THEN LEAVING A STOPLIGHT AS I REACHED THIRD GEAR THE BIKE SUDDENLY MADE SEVERAL LOUD BANGS, I SHUT IT OFF ROLLED TO A STOP AS IT STILL BANGED AND POPPED AS IF I THREW A ROD OR HAD ROCKS IN MY TRANNY. WHILE AT A FULL STOP I SWITCHED THE BIKE TO NEUTRAL STARTED IT AND IT RAN FINE SHUT IT OFF AND TRIED TO ROLL THE BIKE IT CLUNKED LIKE THE NOISE A REAR END MAKES WHEN YOU BLOW SOME TEETH OFF IT. *TR
