The defect: Heartland Recreational Vehicles, LLC, (Heartland) is recalling certain model year 2012-2013 Bighorn Silverado Fifth Wheel Travel trailers, manufactured from February 28, 2012, through August 28, 2012. The liquid propane (LP) hose and wire hanger that is mounted under the slide out can come in contact with the tire, causing damage to the LP hose and wiring.
The risk: A damaged LP hose can lead to an LP leak and fire, increasing the risk of injury or death.
The remedy: Heartland will notify owners, and dealers will repair the affected vehicles free of charge. The recall began on October 5, 2012. Owners may contact Heartland Recreational Vehicles at 1-888-262-5992.

The defect: Heartland RV (Heartland) is recalling certain model year 2011-2012 Elkridge and model year 2012-2013 Bighorn Silverado fifth wheel vehicles. Certain vehicles manufactured with liquid propane (LP) generators may have the LP supply line connected incorrectly to the generator.
The risk: If the LP supply line is connected incorrectly, the generator may vent liquid propane into the generator compartment. In the presence of an ignition source, the vented propane can result in an explosion.
The remedy: Heartland will notify owners and dealers will inspect and correct the LP supply line fitting as necessary, free of charge. The safety recall began on September 10, 2012. Owners may contact Heartland at 1-888-262-5992.

TL* THE CONTACT OWNS A 2012 HEARTLAND BIGHORN SILVERADO TRAILER EQUIPPED WITH POWER KING TOWMAX TIRES, SIZE: LT235/80R16 E. WHILE DRIVING 65 MPH, THE FRONT DRIVER SIDE TIRE BLEW OUT WITHOUT WARNING. THE TIRE WAS REPLACED BY AN INDEPENDENT MECHANIC. THE MANUFACTURER WAS NOT NOTIFIED OF THE FAILURE. THE APPROXIMATE VEHICLE AND TIRE FAILURE MILEAGE WAS 8,000. UPDATED 8/6/15*CN UPDATED 12/23/2015*JS

2 POWER KING TOWMAX STR TIRES, 2 YEARS OLD, VERY LOW MILEAGE, TOWING 4 TIRE BIG HORN FIFTH WHEEL CAMPER, SEPARATED TREADS ON JULY 6 AND JULY 13 OF 2014. CAMPER IS WELL UNDER WEIGHT SPECIFICATIONS, TIRE PRESSURE ALWAYS RUN AT 80 PSI. CAUSED SEVERE DAMAGE TO CAMPER.
