The defect: VEHICLE DESCRIPTION: MEDIUM DUTY TRUCKS EQUIPPED WITH ANTI-LOCK BRAKE SYSTEM (ABS) AND AIR OVER HYDRAULIC BRAKE ACTUATION. THE ABS COMPUTER UNIT IS FAULTY WHICH COULD INCREASE BRAKING DISTANCES.
The risk: INCREASED BRAKING DISTANCES CAN INCREASE THE RISK OF A CRASH.
The remedy: DEALERS WILL REPLACE THE ABS COMPUTER CONTROLLER UNIT.

In some cases, the customer may report a visual chassis posture concern where the chassis appears to be leaning more towards the driver side or passenger side. The following publication can be referenced to obtain the manufacture?s measurement positions and specifications. Should the truck not meet the specifications, you should consider the following potential causes noted in the inspection guideline section below.
