The contact stated that while driving 65 MPH with the cruise control activated, a semi-truck abruptly entered the lane the vehicle was driving in, and the brake pedal became firm. The contact stated that the cruise control failed to disengage while depressing the brake pedal. Due to the firmness of the brake pedal, the contact was forced to abruptly switch lanes. The contact stated that the vehicle almost crashed into a second semi-truck after switching lanes. The contact stated a patch of the road opened, and the contact avoided crashing into the second semi-truck. The braking functionality eventually returned after the initial failure, and the contact resumed normal driving. The contact and his wife suffered from severe mental trauma from the near crashes. Neither the dealer nor the manufacturer was notified of the failure. The vehicle was not diagnosed or repaired. The failure mileage was approximately 17,000.

No "incident" happened. When I purchased my vehicle, the body/fender/hood did not match up on either side. As soon as I purchased my car brand new, I started having multiple noises ( I am still hearing) when I turn my car, I got the steering gearbox recall over a year ago and the noise went away and came back. The sharper I turn, the squeakier the noise. My wastegate actuator makes a metal rattle noise when I drive, it is loose which I was told is normal but I can still hear the rattle at highway speeds..does not sound reassuring. I have taken it to 3 hondas...gave up last year. Its concerning seeing the gearbox recall keep coming out on other vehicles especially not seeing a recall come up for me...as they cannot just perform the remedy again. I do not plan on keeping this car past my warranty as I fear something terrible will happen and fall on me. Most dealership visits they have not been able to duplicate the concern, I reached out to american honda and they were of no assistance as they told me to deal with the dealership directly. The latest noise I am hearing...no longer the wastegate rattle but more of a constant clanking. Everyone says to buy Honda for ease of mind but in the first year alone the dealership saw it more for concerns than maintenance..

The engine in my Honda Civic Si failed prematurely at 28,677 miles while the vehicle was still within Honda’s 5-year/60,000-mile powertrain warranty. Honda and the dealership denied warranty coverage based on a recorded engine overspeed event of 6,900 RPM that occurred earlier at 19,259 miles. The engine’s rev limiter is 6,600 RPM, meaning the recorded event exceeded the limiter by only 300 RPM. After this recorded event, the vehicle continued to operate normally for approximately 9,400 additional miles with no warning lights, drivability issues, or indication of engine damage. The engine failure occurred suddenly at low mileage without prior symptoms. Honda has not provided clear technical evidence demonstrating how a minor overspeed event of this magnitude, occurring thousands of miles earlier, directly caused the engine failure. This raises concerns about premature engine failure, possible engine defects, and the reliability and durability of the Honda Civic Si 1.5T engine. It also raises concerns about manufacturers denying warranty coverage for failures without clear causal evidence. This failure resulted in loss of vehicle function and significant financial burden. The vehicle has been properly maintained and was operated under normal driving conditions. I am submitting this complaint because premature engine failure at such low mileage may indicate a defect affecting engine durability, safety, and reliability

Was traveling ~60mph on a 3 lane section of interstate highway when vehicle in front of me abrutly decreased speed. I braked until my vehicles matched that speed. As I raised my foot from the brake pedal (I had matched the speed of the vehicle in front of me and had an acceptable amount of seperation given the flow of traffic), the brake pedal fell away from my and to the floor and I felt ABS engage. This nearly resulted in my vehicle being rear ended by the car following me. I have driven with the emergency braking system active since the incident (as it is by default after every vehicle power cycle) and have not encountered this behavior again. This had not previously occured in the ~20,000 miles of usage prior to the incident. Since no damage occured during the incident, the vehicle has not been inspected by anyone besides myself.
