TL*THE CONTACT OWNS A 1993 HONDA CIVIC. WHILE DRIVING 30 MPH, THE ACCELERATOR PEDAL WOULD NOT RESPOND WHEN DEPRESSED. THE BATTERY AND ENGINE OIL LIGHTS ILLUMINATED AND ALL ELECTRICAL POWER FAILED. A MECHANIC STATED THAT THE ENGINE COIL FAILED AND THE DEALER REPLACED THE PART. THE VIN WAS UNKNOWN. THE CURRENT AND FAILURE MILEAGES WERE 130,000.
THE HEAD GASKET HAD TO BE REPLACED AND THE ENGINE WAS WARPED SO CAR KEPT OVERHEATING AND FINALLY THE ENGINE HAD TO BE REPLACED
ENGINE MOUNTS VIBRATE AT ENGINE REVS ABOVE 3K RPM AT ALL TIMES SINCE I PURCHASED THE CAR REPLACEMENT WITH HONDA O.E. PART HAS NOT SOLVED PROBLEM. *AK
WHILE DRIVING ABOUT 60 MPH ENGINE STARTED OVERHEATING. THEN DROVE TO A GARAGE WHERE A TECHNICIAN TOLD HIM THAT WAS A RESULT OF THE PISTON RINGS WARPED THE PISTON SIDE WALLS , THE PISTON RIGE METAL IS TOO HARD. *AK
DRAIN HOLE FOR THE OIL PAN WAS DAMAGED. YH
THE GROVES TO THE OIL PAN PLUG ARE STRIPPED. PLEASE PROVIDE FURTHER DETAILS. *AK
ENGINE MAKES RATTLING NOISE. *YC
CV BOOTS ON BOTH SIDES FAILED. MJS
WHEN COMING TO A COMPLETE STOP VEHICLE STALLS . THE DEALER HAS REPLACED THE WIRING IN THE COOLING SYSTEM. THE DEALER HAS BEEN NOTIFIED. *AK
DISTRIBUTOR NEEDED TO BE REPLACED AFTER ONLY 85000 MILES. ALL INDICATIONS FROM MECHANICS ARE THAT THIS PART SHOULD LAST MUCH LONGER.
DISTRIBUTOR BEARINGS FROZE AND HAD TO BE REPLACED.
WATER PUMP FAILED TWICE.
