2010 Honda Civic Seat belts Problems

Owner-reported complaints naming the seat belt system, filed with NHTSA

Data refreshed

Seat belts reportsComplaints are reports submitted to NHTSA by owners and drivers. NHTSA does not verify most reports before publishing them, and a complaint does not establish that a defect exists. Volume is influenced by how many of a vehicle were sold, how long it has been on the road, and how much attention an issue has received.

The contact owns a 2010 Honda Civic. OTHER DRIVER SLAMMED INTO REAR OF MY CAR AT ABOUT 30 MPH. I RECALL GOING FORWARD INSIDE MY CAR BUT IT SEEMS SEAT BELT DID NOT TIGHTEN. TURNS OUT MY DRIVER'S SEAT FRAME WAS BROKEN IN THE ACCIDENT AND MY BEST GUESS IS ENTIRE DRIVER'S SEAT WAS GOING FORWARD. DON'T KNOW IF THIS IS USUAL OR NOT. I'VE NOT HEARD OF IT. ALSO, WOULD LIKE TO KNOW WHETHER THE FACT THAT THE ENTIRE DRIVER'S SEAT WAS MOVING FORWARD IS REASON SEAT BELT DID NOT TIGHTEN. *TR
