2011 Honda Civic Interior & seats Problems

Owner-reported complaints naming the interior system, filed with NHTSA

Data refreshed

Interior & seats reportsComplaints are reports submitted to NHTSA by owners and drivers. NHTSA does not verify most reports before publishing them, and a complaint does not establish that a defect exists. Volume is influenced by how many of a vehicle were sold, how long it has been on the road, and how much attention an issue has received.

Airbag sensor light for front passenger seat has recently lit up and won’t turn off. Honda dealer said my daughter needs to replace the passenger seat weight sensor which means replacing the whole seat at $3000+ cost. Please check, thank you.

Two seat belts have malfunctioned in the back seat just from normal wear. My infant daughter rides in the back seat and I trust that the seat belts would function correctly for normal use! -I am not sure. I have an appointment with Honda dealership tomorrow. -It has not currently been inspected. -No symptoms prior and no reasonable explanation for this to happen.

THE TRUNK LATCH , ONCE LOCKED BY A KEY, WILL NOT ENGAGE AND OPEN THE TRUNK FROM THE INSIDE OF THE CAR. I BROUGHT MY AUTO TO THE DEALER TWICE. IT OCCASIONALLY WILL OPEN, BUT MORE OFTEN THAN NOT, IT WILL NOT ENGAGE. THE SERVICE MANAGER WAS PRESENT AND ABLE TO SEE THIS PROBLEM. HE WAS BAFFLED. BUT THEY SAID I USED TOO MUCH FORCE TO UNLOCK THE TRUNK. THIS AFTER HAVING THE CAR FOR OVER 6 MONTHS! THIS IS MY 2ND HONDA CIVIC AND I NEVER HAD AN ISSUE BEFORE. *KB
