While driving the car stalled and then the engine shutdown, caused by a misfired fuel injector. Myself and the passengers in the car were minorly safe, as this incident occurred while driving through the Yellowstone National park; having to pull over on the side of the road with no shoulder. The Woody Smith Hyundai Dealership in Idaho Falls confirmed that the feul injectors had misfired, and then replaced them. Prior to the failure, there was no warning until the car was actively stalling and failing (battery light and check engine light came on).
I became aware of a Technical Service Bulletin that Hyundai published in Jan 2025 acknowledging that many vehicles (of which mine is one) have a faulty fuel injector and it will fail. Hyundai elected to not issue a recall on this issue so the public has no idea they are driving vehicles that are just awaiting for a malfunction in their engine. It appears the reason Hyundai is doing this is because fuel injectors are only covered on the manufacturer’s limited 5-year 60,000-mile warranty so they are hoping the faulty injectors last long enough to get beyond that point and customers don’t know the injectors were even faulty to begin with (because TSBs are not public knowledge). Hyundai can then charge for full repairs and omit admittance that the injectors were faulty and blame it on wear and tear. Mine failed beyond 60,000 miles and I am in this predicament. I imagine most customers with 2022 vehicles have not driven as much as me and haven’t had this come up. It seemed like something I should inform someone about. Do with this what you wish

My 2022 Hyundai Tucson Experience, a sudden transmission failure at approximately 92,520 miles. The vehicle develop shifting issues and abnormal noises before losing propulsión. While driving. Hyundai diagnosed and internal Transmission failure and approved transmission replacement. I’m concerned about the sudden loss of proportion and the safety risk this creates. Hyundai proposed repair is to replace the transmission with a rebuild remanufacture transmission rather than a new transmission. I am concerned about the reliability of the repair following a complete transmission failure.
I am submitting this complaint regarding my 2022 Hyundai Tucson equipped with the 2.5L engine. The vehicle has experienced multiple incidents of severe engine misfiring while driving. During these events, the engine begins to shake violently, the entire vehicle vibrates, and engine power is significantly reduced. The vehicle becomes unable to accelerate normally, creating a serious safety hazard, especially when driving on highways or in traffic. The malfunction has occurred several times. Diagnostic trouble codes P0302 and P0303 have been recorded, indicating cylinder misfires. In some cases, turning the engine off and restarting it temporarily restores normal operation. On other occasions, adding fuel system cleaner appeared to temporarily improve the condition. However, the problem eventually returns. Because the condition is intermittent, the Hyundai dealership has been unable to reproduce the failure during inspection and therefore has not performed a repair under warranty. Despite multiple visits, the root cause remains unidentified. I am concerned that the sudden loss of power and severe engine vibration could result in an accident if the vehicle is unable to maintain speed or accelerate while traveling at highway speeds. This issue has significantly affected the safe operation of the vehicle. I request that this matter be investigated, as it appears to be a recurring safety-related defect.

Multiple DTC codes on car at 25,120 miles,32,344, 34,324, 47,484, 51,853, 53,521, Consistent Fuel Injector failing under warranty, prior to 60,000 miles and not replaced correctly, as I have had to see dealership 4 times for ineffective fuel injector replacement and consistent problem. First DTC code reading @ 25,120 miles as stated on DTC coding Reports through Hyundai/Bluelink app. SEVERE Fuel leak into interior cabin and Fuel failure due to Powertrain/Injector Issues from 25,120 miles, and many more mileage as seen above. AUTO start does not work, Catalytic Converter is in need of replacement as codes read DTC code past readings and Engine Failure: P04567A, P030300, P022200,P012300,P210013,P042033,P042033 With FUEL INJECTOR/Powertrain Error. Caused car to engine fail in middle of driving!! *SAFETY CONCERN. I Have started multiple cases with Hyundai Motor America, and they had done nothing to report the problem or keep car for further testing and safety priority. Car is brand new, has about 66,800 miles on it now, had to replace all FUEL INJECTORS, FUEL RAIL, and now needing to replace Catalytic Converter due to Hyundai not covering issue that was consistent with Fuel Injector and initial GAS leak into Cabin. I had to visit the doctor many times due to GAS FUMES. 2025-2026-DTC codes stated under individual mechanic, and within my Hyundai Blue Link app as reading multiple DTC codes that Hyundai Refused to cover or fix initially. (Wrights Car Care, Atlanta, GA) stated that car is not safe to drive and is FIRE HAZARD (Technical Bulletin Alert) for Catalytic Converter is now pending and previously read as powertrain issue.

Unintentional and unexpected activation of emergency collision or adaptive cruise control, causing the vehicle to stop and become immobile in the lane of traffic. I was driving down the interstate with the adaptive cruse control on and the lane keeping assistance on. These both were on for about 20 minutes as I was driving down the highway. There were no vehicles in front of or behind me for a quarter mile or so. I as all alone with nothing around me. All of a sudden it seemed like the collision avoidance system activated. The car came to a complete stop in the right lane of the highway. I tried to proceed and could see the emergency brake was on, the engine was running the car was in drive but it would not move. Flipped on the hazard flashers and traffic caught up to me while sitting in the right lane of the highway waiting to get rear ended. Vehicles were barely getting by at 70 MPH. The car would I pressed the accelerator and the car move d forward enough to get off the highway, this took a minute or two. Once off he highway, I could see the emergency brake would not release. I turned the engine off went out to inspect all the forward sensors. There was no visible issue. I restarted the car after a minute or so and it proceeded normally. That was Saturday, this is Sunday, I am taking the vehicle to Hundai tomorrow for inspection.
On July 24, 2026, while driving on a marked city street with no vehicle, pedestrian, or obstruction ahead, the Forward Collision-Avoidance system on our 2022 Hyundai Tucson Limited AWD applied emergency braking on its own, three to four separate times, each lasting one to two seconds. Traffic behind us nearly struck our vehicle. My family was in the car. This is the latest event in a progressive electrical fault history. In June 2025, under warranty at 48,037 miles, a Hyundai dealer documented recurring multi-system warning cascades (forward safety, lane keeping, high beam assist, speed limit warning) and a failed auto start/stop system. The dealer's listed resolution was "battery voltage / replace battery"; their invoice records that no repair was performed. We replaced the battery at our own expense. The faults continued. In June 2026, the start/stop system shut the engine off at a red light and the vehicle would not restart, leaving us disabled in a live traffic lane. Power was only restored by cycling the hood release. Since then, TCM and ECU software updates and a battery harness replacement (our expense, approx. $1,200) have been performed. The faults persisted after these repairs and have now escalated to uncommanded emergency braking. Date- and time-stamped video and photographs exist for multiple events. Two Hyundai dealerships have not identified a root cause. Similar phantom braking reports exist from other owners of this model year. We no longer consider the vehicle safe to drive.

The contact owns a 2022 Hyundai Tucson. The contact stated that while his wife was operating the vehicle, the vehicle lost headlight functionality without warning. In addition, the contact stated that the radio intermittently failed to operate while driving the vehicle. The contact stated that the headlight became operable when his wife was near to her destination. The vehicle was not diagnosed or repaired. Upon investigation, the contact discovered NHTSA Campaign Number: 21V938000 (Electrical System, Exterior Lighting); however, the VIN was not included in the recall. The manufacturer was not notified of the failure. The failure mileage was approximately 25,800.

Front brake rotors warped causing violent brake pedal pulsating and steering wheel vibration. My vehicle has only 18000 miles. The dealership Hyundai reported problem as a service bulletin TSB 23-BR-004H. I believe this a safety issue and a recall should be annouced.
On XXX, while approaching a stop sign, the vehicle did not engage the brakes as expected. I had to press the brake pedal multiple times, and the vehicle jerked several times before it came to a stop. Given that a brake failure of this kind poses an immediate risk to my safety and the safety of others on the road, I had the vehicle towed in for service right away. I took the vehicle to Courtesy Hyundai of Tampa (3810 W Hillsborough Ave, Tampa, FL 33614) on Monday, XXX (Repair Order #XXX). Service Advisor Dominick DeLeva documented the complaint and had the vehicle test driven. The dealership's notes state that the issue could not be duplicated, no fault codes were present, and the brake fluid level was correct. A multi-point inspection was also completed. The vehicle was returned to me on July 14, 2026, with no repairs made and no explanation for the braking irregularity I experienced. Airbags

The contact owned a 2022 Hyundai Tucson. The contact stated that while her husband was driving at 25-30 MPH, another vehicle struck the front driver side, flinging the vehicle to the right side before another vehicle crashed into the front passenger side. The air bags failed to deploy. No warning light was illuminated. The contact's husband sustained back injuries, while the contact suffered a concussion. Medical attention was received for both. A police report was filed. The vehicle was towed to a tow yard, where it was deemed totaled by the insurance company. The manufacturer was made aware of the failure, and a case was filed. The failure mileage was approximately 46,000.
Airbag indicator came on around 62000 miles. Was told by Hyundai technician that it cost $2100 plus to replace part. Hyundai has known problems with airbags. Did this extend to my model? Have others had similar problems?
Visibility

While driving my 2022 Hyundai Tucson at highway speed, the panoramic sunroof spontaneously shattered with a loud “explosion” sound. There was no road debris, overhead structure, or external cause, and no warning lights or prior symptoms. The glass shows a central hole with spiderweb cracking radiating outward, which is consistent with a manufacturing defect in tempered glass panels, not an impact. The sunroof shade was closed, preventing glass from entering the cabin, but this failure created a serious safety risk to occupants and nearby drivers. This matches numerous reports of Hyundai panoramic sunroof failures and is similar to the pattern documented in NHTSA Investigation PE13-017. The vehicle has not yet been inspected by Hyundai but is available for inspection. Incident occurred on [XXX], while driving from Monroe, Louisiana, to Atlanta, GA, shortly after departure. The failure created a serious safety issue, forcing us to stop at a Home Depot and perform emergency repairs using tarp and Gorilla tape to secure the roof and continue our trip safely. The component that failed are the visibility with headlights being completely snow packed and covered in a snow storm. The lights themselves did not fail, but the design causes snow to get stuck over all the headlights, which continues building to a point where 99%+ of light blocked. This has occurred numerous times since owning the car, easily 20+ times. VERY dangerous, oncoming cars will flash their headlights because the Tucson headlights are completely covered. Visibility is greatly decreased. Have to pull over multiple times driving in snow storms to break the snow and ice free from the headlights, only to build up again once driving. This puts not only our lives, but other drivers lives at risk. Just imagine driving in winter conditions, at night, with no headlights. Mentioned to dealer, but not documented anywhere and was not given any serious consideration. At that point we were focused on trying to get the power loss/hesitation and extremely rough shifting fixed. Big design flaw with the combination of headlights built into the grill, and with new technology, the lights must not get hot enough to melt the snow. Anyone who thinks that driving in a snow storm, at night, and no headlights isn't a huge safety issue or that this is exaggerated, I invite you to come take a ride with us this winter.
Exterior lighting

While driving at night, the headlights on my 2022 Hyundai Tucson Hybrid shut off randomly, including when using the turn signal. The lights will turn off without warning at highway speeds, creating a serious safety hazard. Using the turn signal can cause the headlights to turn off, and sometimes using the turn signal will temporarily turn them back on. The headlight mode also changes by itself while driving (AUTO to OFF to ON to OFF). Additionally, when the vehicle is turned off, the headlights often stay on no matter what mode the switch is in. I have to restart the vehicle and manipulate the turn signal/headlight stalk multiple times to get the lights to turn off. This is a recurring and dangerous failure that affects nighttime visibility and safety for me and my family. No other electrical issues are present. This is available for inspection. Safety for my family and all others on the road put at risk as the headlights randomly shut off at night. The problem was reproduced by the dealer. The dealer quoted a $1,500 repair, but this a safety‑critical defect in the lighting control system.

The contact owns a 2022 Hyundai Tucson. The contact stated that while driving 15 MPH, the vehicle jerked right and inadvertently drove into a snowbank. The vehicle was taken to the residence and then towed to a dealer, where the failure could not be duplicated. The contact had not sustained injuries, and a Police Report was not filed. The vehicle was not repaired. The manufacturer was not notified of the failure. The failure mileage was 30,200.

The contact stated while driving approximately 20 MPH and depressing the brake pedal, the brakes and power steering malfunctioned, causing the contact to momentarily lose control of the vehicle and the vehicle drove into the middle of a busy intersection. After inspection by a few people it was determined that the front passenger side lower frame cracked which then cracked the body oozing rusty water out of it. I was told that if the car was hit on the passenger side that it would not retain its ability to be stable and would crumple. It has been inspected by the Hyundai dealership, A general manager from another dealership and 3 auto body welders. This first appeared in December of 2025 after I had washed my car and was drying it off.

Brand/Model: Bridgestone Alenza AS Ultra Size: 235/60R17 DOT Code: 1W281AAU11925, W281AAU1025, W281AAU14124, W281AAU10525 Purchase Date: July 28, 2025 I am reporting a catastrophic and unpredictable treadwear failure on a set of four (4) Bridgestone Alenza AS Ultra tires (80,000-mile warranty / 800 UTQG). Despite professional maintenance, these tires have degraded to a legally bald and unsafe state (2/32") in less than 8,000 total miles. The tires exhibited a sudden "melting" effect. On October 31, 2025 (Odo: 28,330), a third-party inspection verified a safe tread depth of 9/32" with even wear. However, by February 20, 2026, the tires had dropped to 3/32", and by March 20, they reached 2/32". This represents a loss of 7/32" (70% of usable tread) in only ~3,800 miles. This rapid, non-linear degradation creates an emergency safety hazard, as the tires lost wet-weather traction and hydroplaning resistance in less than 30 days between service checks. Maintenance History: The vehicle (2022 Hyundai Tucson) has a documented history of proper care: Professional Alignment: September, 2025 (Insurance-certified). Tread Verification: October 31, 2025 (Confirmed 9/32" and even wear). Rotation Service: February 20, 2026 (Performed at 7,500-mile interval). The failure is global across all four tires, including the non-driven rear axle, indicating a fundamental rubber compound defect. Retailer (Costco)has denied warranty support, citing "rapid wear" as a non-covered issue, despite the tires failing 72,000 miles before their engineered lifespan. This defect leaves the consumer on the road with unsafe, bald tires that failed without warning.
POSSIBLE RECALL SITUATION Kumho Crugen HP 71 101H 235 55 R19 Warranted Tire Life: 65,000 Miles Failed at: 32,000 Miles (estimated) 3 out of the 4 original tires failed on vehicle under 50% through normal life of tire. I DO Have Tires in my possession. • According to 2 different tire departments including Dealership in which car was purchased, 3 out of 4 original tires failed due to BROKEN BELTS. • A blowout can cause loss of control of vehicle, leading to possible injury or death not only for vehicle inhabitants, but for other vehicles and/or pedestrians as well. • Problem reported to 2 different facilities including Lithia Hyundai New Port Richey, Florida where vehicle was purchased with these tires as OE Original Equipment. • Issue was reported to: Place of purchase: Lithia Hyundai New Port Richey, Florida (OE Original Equipment) • Issue was reported to: Lithia Corporate Office including Legal Department and Chief Operating Officer. Legal Customer Relations Representative stated: "Corporate will not be able to assist you further at this time. Corporate found your warranty has expired for your tires..." • Issue was reported to: Kumho Tire USA Warranty Department • Kumho Warranty Representative stated "that the process MUST be started with the Dealership selling the tires." • Issue was diagnosed by Original Dealer, Lithia Hyundai of New Port Richey as Broken Belts on 3 out of 4 tires. • Issue was diagnosed by Sam's Club New Port Richey as Broken Belts on 3 out of 4 tires. Diagnosis was completed through a "Run-Out Test". 4 new tires of different brand installed. oNo Warning Lights or Messages oVery small vibration occurred around 32,000 miles. oAround 33,000 miles estimated, took vehicle in for Oil Change and Rotate & Balance. At this time, the vibration had progressed to a more severe vibration with pulling to the right. oAround 33,700 miles took vehicle back in to inform them of very severe vibration.

The contact owns a 2022 Hyundai Tucson. The contact received notification of NHTSA Campaign Number: 25V893000(TRAILER HITCHES); however, the part to do the recall repair was unavailable. The local dealer was contacted and it was confirmed that the part was not available. The contact stated that the manufacturer exceeded a reasonable amount of time for the recall repair. The manufacturer and local dealer was not contact made aware of the issue. The contact had not experienced the failure.
The contact owns a 2022 Hyundai Tucson. The contact stated that while driving at various speeds, the driver’s and passenger’s side turn signals were flashing quickly. No warning light was illuminated. The contact stated that the driver’s side and passenger’s side turn signals failed to properly illuminate. The vehicle was taken to a local dealer, where it was diagnosed with a short-circuited wiring harness, which caused the junction box to fail. The vehicle was not repaired. Upon further investigation, the contact stated that the Part Number: CWF61-AU000; was installed previously by the same local dealer; however, the contact related the failure to NHTSA Campaign: 25E091000 (Trailer Hitches). The manufacturer was made aware of the failure. The failure mileage was approximately 64,000.

Suspension

Trailing arm bushings on both sides appear to generate considerable noise indicating wear (has been since delivery but getting much worse over this year). Dealer's solution was to simply lubricate them. The owner manual says nothing of this, and I think this is a simple "go away" band-aid solution. Attempted to reach Hyundai corporate, who asked me to confirm with the dealer if that is proper. That seems like a question for engineering, not the dealer who applied the band-aid fix. It is apparent that the bushings they affixed to the vehicle are defective and could possibly cause larger issues down the line -- far enough down the road when Hyundai can claim they are a wear item and need to be replaced.
The car has been erratic in its performance since purchase. The car has a continuous issue with the suspension, electronic system, and brakes. I have reached out to Hyundai manufacturer on numerous occasion regarding the car and no one is addressing my concerns. The car drives so erratic and unpredictable that I am fearful that someone will be injured or worst. Attached is a photo of the entire system going offline, which occurs all the time, and because the whole care is computerized this poses a safety risk for me and others on the road. When the car goes offline, I no longer have control of the vehicle and all mechanical systems are down. Please help me to get this issue resolved before someone gets hurt. Seat belts

Yesterday used front passenger side seatbelt and it worked fine. Today it did not work at all, seatbelt does not latch.
Had my car scanned it said air control unit. With that light on if I have a collision my ai bags won't deploy and my safety belts will not lock.

The contact owns a 2022 Hyundai Tucson. The contact stated that while parked for approximately an hour and the front driver seat unoccupied, the contact's granddaughter climbed into the front seat from the rear to sit with the front passenger occupant and accidentally depressed the drive (D) button and the vehicle began rolling forward. The vehicle crashed into another parked vehicle. There were no injuries and no police report filed. Additionally, the contact stated that she attempted to switch to each gear and the vehicle's brake did not need to be applied to shift gears. The vehicle was not diagnosed or repaired. The manufacturer was not notified of the failure. The failure mileage was 28,000.
Purchased a new 2022 SUV Tucson on 5/22/21. While driving on a busy street 6/7/21 during work traffic the vehicle just cut off without warning. With horns blaring I managed to coast to the right blocking traffic leaving one lane open for moving traffic. Vehicle after a couple of tries would start but would not move when gear was placed in Drive or Reverse. Hyundai Roadside Assistance notified vehicle towed to closest Hyundai Dealership. This was dangerous vehicles were almost running into the back of my SUV while abruptly stopping. I exited the vehicle while waiting for the tow truck in fear of vehicle being hit placing myself and others at risk of an accident. Informed by Asst. Service Manager at Hyundai Dealership that no one was trained to work on the 2022 TUCSONs at the Dealership. As a Public Safety measure at least some employees at each dealership should be trained to work on all newly released vehicles before they are placed on the market. Notified on June 15, 2021 that the vehicle has a limp mode/ limp node problem. June 16, 2021 I was informed by Hyundai dealership that the 22 TUCSON has a mechanical defect, transmission fluid was leaking which now the Transmission needs to be replaced. The newly purchased vehicle currently has only around 370 miles on it. I thought vehicles go through an inspection before leaving factory and after they reach the dealership before being sold. This I consider to be another safety issue anything can happen during transport. A repurchase/buyback from Hyundai wasn't approved. The vehicle is available for inspection upon request. Vehicle is ready and will be picked up from the dealership requesting an invoice of the repair work completed for viewing. This vehicle could have caused a catastrophic deadly occurrence

2022 HYUNDAI TUCSON. CONSUMER WRITES IN REGARD TO DEFECTIVE POWERLIFT GATE. THE CONSUMER STATED THE IT WOULD BE TOO DIFFICULT TO OPEN THE LIFT GATE IF TRAPPED INSIDE DURING AN EMERGENCY. THE CONSUMER STATED THE OCCUPANT SHOULD NOT NEED A "TOOL" TO RELEASE THE LIFT GATE.
