2007 INFINITI G35 Body & structure Problems

Owner-reported complaints naming the body or structure system, filed with NHTSA

Data refreshed

Body & structure reportsComplaints are reports submitted to NHTSA by owners and drivers. NHTSA does not verify most reports before publishing them, and a complaint does not establish that a defect exists. Volume is influenced by how many of a vehicle were sold, how long it has been on the road, and how much attention an issue has received.

after being garaged for over 10 years the rear cross body member has severe rust rendering the car unsafe to drive . The rest of the body has little to no rust. I was unable to climb under the car to get better pictures but I did visually confirm while at my mechanics garage.

DASH BOARD LOOKS LIKE START MELTING AND STICKY. WHEN DRIVING IN A SUNNY DAY REFLECTS BACK FROM THE WINDSHIELD LOOKS LIKE A MIRROR BACK INTO MY FACE FACE SOMETIMES CAN SEE AND I HAVE TO STOP THE VEHICLE TO SEE! SHOULD BE A RECALL ON IT. REALLY DANGEROUS TO DRIVE LIKE THIS!

WHEN TAKING MY 2007 INFINITI G35 COUPE IN FOR SERVICE, BOTH THE TECH AND MYSELF NOTICED A BAD POP WHEN OPENING THE HOOD OF THE CAR. THE TECH STATED THAT HE HAS SEEN THIS MANY TIMES WITH OTHER INFINITI CARS ESPECIALLY THOSE THAT ARE THE SAME MODEL. HE EXPLAINED TO ME WHAT WAS CAUSING THIS ISSUE. THE HINGES ARE CORRODING WHERE THEY ATTACH TO THE BODY OF THE CAR. BECAUSE OF THIS, WHEN THE HOOD IS OPENED, THE TORQUE FROM OPENING THE HOOD IS CAUSING THE HINGES TO BEND. IN ADDITION TO THE HINGES CORRODING AND BENDING, WHEN THE HOOD IS BEING OPENED, IT IS CAUSING THE ENTIRE HOOD TO SINK LOWER THAN IT SHOULD WHICH RESULTS IN IT DAMAGING THE FENDERS. THE HOOD RUBS AGAINST THE FENDERS CAUSING THEM TO BEND AND CHIP. AFTER LISTENING TO THE TECH, I DID SOME RESEARCH ONLINE AND FOUND THAT THERE ARE MANY PEOPLE WHO HAVE HAD THIS HAPPEN TO THEM. THERE ARE A LOT OF FORUMS AND ONLINE ARTICLES THAT DISCUSS THIS ISSUE. I CALLED INFINITI TO DISCUSS THIS ISSUE WITH THEM AND THEY SAID THAT THERE IS NO RECALL FOR THIS ISSUE. EVEN THE TECH SAID THAT THIS SHOULD BE A RECALL ITEM BECAUSE HINGES, ESPECIALLY THOSE CONNECTING THE HOOD TO THE CAR, SHOULD NEVER DO THIS. I AM WRITING IN HOPES OF GETTING SOME SORT OF ACTION TAKEN TO GET THIS ISSUE ADDRESSED BY INFINITI AND HAVING THEM MAKE IT A RECALL ITEM. *TR

MY 2007 INFINITI G35X HAS RUST ON THE BACK HOOD. THE DEALER WILL TAKE NO RESPONSIBILITY FOR THIS ISSUE. THIS CAR ALSO HAS VERY CHEAP INTERIOR MATERIAL AROUND THE DOOR PULLS THAT HAS SCRATCHED OFF AND THE PLASTIC IS EXPOSED. INFINITI WILL NOT TAKE ANY RESPONSIBILITY FOR USING A DEFECTED PRODUCT AROUND THE DOOR PULLS AND STEERING WHEEL ALTHOUGH ONLINE YOU CAN READ MANY COMPLAINTS. *TR

I HAVE HAD MANY PROBLEMS WITH MY G35X MOST NOTABLY THE CAR JERKS VIOLENTLY AT OR AROUND 38 MPH, I HAVE CALLED CONSUMER AFFAIRS AND THE DEALER AND THEY BOTH DENY THERE EVEN BEING A PROBLEM. THE COLOR IS LIQUID PLATINUM AND THERE SEEMS TO BE METAL FLAKES IN THE CLEAR CAUSING THERE TO BE THOUSANDS OF TINY RUST SPOTS ON THE PAINT. *TR

THERE ARE METAL PAINT FLAKES LODGED IN THE CLEAR-COAT OF THE PAINT JOB, ALL OVER THE VEHICLE. IT SHOWS UP AS SMALL SPECS OF COLOR IN THE PAINT FINISH, REALLY OBVIOUS WHEN YOU HAVE A BLACK CAR. *TR

I BELIEVE THE PAINT ON THE 2007 INFINITI G35 IS DEFECTIVE. THE DEALER DID NOT TELL ME WHEN I PURCHASED THE VEHICLE THAT IT NEEDED TO BE SEALED. AFTER ONLY HAVING THE VEHICLE 2 MONTHS, THE PAINT ON MY HOOD IS RUINED FROM BIRD DROPPINGS. I WAS AT WORK AND BY THE TIME I WAS ABLE TO WASH IT OFF MY PAINT WAS RUINED. WHEN I CALLED THE DEALER ABOUT THE PROBLEM HE TOLD ME THE PAINT WAS SUCH 'HIGH TECH' PAINT THAT IT SHOULD HAVE BEEN SEALED AND THEN HE TOLD ME THE DEALERSHIP SPENDS THOUSANDS OF DOLLARS EVERY YEAR HAVING CARS REPAIRED FROM THEIR LOT BECAUSE OF BIRD DROPPINGS. IF THE PAINT IS THAT BAD, IT SHOULD BE SEALED COATED FROM THE FACTORY! *TR
