What this page shows
Everything below is an owner-reported complaint submitted to NHTSA about the 2008 INFINITI M45, grouped by the component NHTSA recorded on the report. These are not confirmed defects, and they are not recalls. NHTSA does not verify most reports before publishing them, and a category with more reports in it is not evidence that a part is defective.
Complaints are reports submitted by owners and drivers to NHTSA. They are not verified and do not establish that a defect exists.

Ranked by how many owner reports name each component category

TAKATA RECALL
TAKATA AIR BAG RECALL WE RECEIVED A SAFETY RECALL 16V-349 AROUND AUGUST 1, 2016. CONTACTED LOCAL INFINITI DEALER AND THEY HAVE NOT RECEIVED THE REPLACEMENT. COULD EXPECT IT IN 4 TO 6 WEEKS. EXPECTED TIME CAME AND WENT AND WE WERE TOLD IT WOULD BE ANOTHER MONTH TO 6 WEEKS. ADVISED TO NOT LET ANYONE SIT IN THE FRONT PASSENGER SEAT AS AIRBAG COULD EXPLODE WITHOUT WARNING. IT IS DIFFICULT FOR ME TO GET IN AND OUT OF BACK SEAT DUE TO HEALTH PROBLEMS.

SITTING AT A LIGHT THE FIRST TIME AND THE ENGINE STALLED OUT IN IDLE MODE. THE 2ND TIMEIN THE SAME DAY I WAS DRIVING IN THE NEIGBORHOOD AND GOING MAYBE 15MILES PER HOUR AND THE CAR TURNED OFF WITH NO WARNING OR REASON. IT LOOKS TO ME THAT THE ACCELERATOR PEDAL ASSEMBLY AND ENGING CONTROL MODULE NEEDS TO BE REPLACED ALONG WITH TPMS LAMP

WHILE DRIVING EAST (UPHILL) ON I-90 FROM SEATTLE TOWARD SNOQUALMIE PASS, MY CAR SUDDENLY AND UNEXPECTEDLY VEERED INTO THE ADJACENT LANE, LITERALLY TEARING/TURNING THE STEERING WHEEL OUT OF MY HANDS. I PULLED OFF THE FREEWAY TO LET MY HEART RATE SLOW DOWN. ON MY RETURN TRIP, DOWNHILL, THE SAME TERRIFYING EXPERIENCE OCCURRED, NARROWLY AVOIDING A COLLISION WITH A TRUCK. A BIT OF INTERNET RESEARCH REVEALED THAT THIS EXPERIENCE IS CALLED "TRAMLINING" AND THAT MANY INFINITI MODELS/YEARS HAVE BEEN REPORTED TO SUFFER FROM IT. I REPORTED MY EXPERIENCES TO MY LOCAL INFINITI DEALER'S SERVICE MANAGER, BUT HE ACTED BAFFLED BY THE TERM "TRAMLINING" AND TOLD ME, "AFTER ALL, YOU OWN A 45S, A SPORT MODEL." HE CHARGED ME A BUNDLE TO PUT NEW TIRES ON MY CAR, BUT THE TRAMLINING PROBLEM HASN'T GONE AWAY -- ONLY MY MONEY. *TR
