2019 INFINITI QX60 Electrical Problems

Owner-reported complaints naming the electrical system, filed with NHTSA

Data refreshed

Electrical reportsComplaints are reports submitted to NHTSA by owners and drivers. NHTSA does not verify most reports before publishing them, and a complaint does not establish that a defect exists. Volume is influenced by how many of a vehicle were sold, how long it has been on the road, and how much attention an issue has received.

At the end of XXX I noticed that my 2019 Infiniti QX60 was starting to jerk when I accelerated. At first it was an intermittent jerking but on or about XXX it was happening more often. I took my vehicle in that day to get the oil changed and mentioned the problem to the manager at the shop. When the mechanic did a scanned diagnostic test on it he said it was a fuel pump problem and he recommended I get the fuel pump replaced. The shop completed the fuel pump replacement on XXX but when I picked up the vehicle it was still jerking. I called the shop when I got home and conveyed that the problem still existed. I took the vehicle back to the shop on XXX and after sharing this information with the manager and mechanic: [XXX] the manager called me back later in the day and said the error codes from the YouTube video I shared with them surprisingly show up on the next diagnostic scan! I picked up my vehicle that afternoon but couldn’t speak to either one of them because they left before I arrived. They asked me to wait an hour before picking up the vehicle so “the fluid could thicken up”! I have since emailed the manager about them guaranteeing their work because they misdiagnosed the problem. I paid approximately $1125 to replace the fuel pump and my CVT transmission went out when I was driving home after picking up the vehicle on XXX.I have about 142K+ miles on the vehicle. I get my oil changed when directed but have dealt with an oil leak in the past and had an electrical problem about six months ago. Odometer Fraud. The contact purchased a 2019 Infinity QX60. The contact discovered a mileage discrepancy after the purchase. The vehicle was a dealer sale. At the time of purchase, on February 25, 2022, the mileage was 59,607. It was later discovered that the mileage on the Title was 116,134. The check engine warning light illuminated, and the vehicle was taken to the dealer. The contact retrieved a Carfax history check, and it showed that on Oct. 4, 2021, the mileage was 52,177. Then, 48 hours later, on Oct. 6, 2021, on the recorded certified checklist, the mileage was 53,854. The information on the Carfax report was before the contact purchased the vehicle. The contact stated that on Oct. 6, 2021, the mileage information was blank on the Carfax report. The dealer was contacted; however, no assistance was provided.

My vehicle shut down while driving, my safety, the safety of others was very much at risk as the vehicle shut down with no warnings while driving at a very busy time and roads, cars where honking at me, I have not taken the vehicle to the dealer ship as they were just going to run a diagnosis and charge almost $300 dollars for that however I took my vehicle to Auto Zone they checked it briefly for me and found no error codes but this shut down has now happened twice while driving is very scary. The warning lamp that pop while vehicle shut down was FEB warning light along with the battery light.

FEB (sensors) display on our Infiniti QX 60 dashboard - this occurred within several months when we received the car. The car was inspected by their Infiniti Repair dealer and was told the problem was solved. It was not and the same issue appeared after several miles of driving. Reported to Consumer Affairs at Infiniti and was informed its an Infiniti Dealer issue. Further electronic defects occurred as I was not able to change gear from Park to Drive. Infiniti towed the car to their Dealer and purportedly they corrected. The same issue continued and placed several more calls to Infiniti Consumer affairs. Was told "we are sorry but we cant help you". Eventually brought this issue up to the highest level at Infiniti to [XXX] - head of Nissan North America. No action yet again - and was called by an assistant and thanked me for bringing it to his attention. informed Infiniti via email to [XXX] that it can be catastrophic at Front sensors are defective and do not function. I have video's and written correspondence to Infiniti. I am available for a Zoom call or can be contacted at [XXX]. Respectfully yours, [XXX] Brooklyn, NY INFORMATION Redacted PURSUANT TO THE FREEDOM OF INFORMATION ACT (FOIA), 5 U.S.C. 552(B)(6).

The contact owns a 2019 Infiniti QX60. The contact stated that while driving at various speeds, a warning sensor light would indicate that the Forward Collision Avoidance sensor was turned off. The contact stated that small amounts of road debris had led to the sensor failure. The contact had taken the vehicle to the dealer on multiple occasions where she was instructed to keep the sensors cleaned to avoid further failures. Despite multiple attempts to keep the sensors clean, the failure persisted. The sensor was then repaired under warranty; however, the failure returned. The manufacturer had been notified of the failure and referred her to the NHTSA for assistance. The vehicle was not repaired. The failure mileage was approximately 20,000. The consumer stated the problem has been resolved.

While driving home from work on the expressway, the FEB indicator came on even though there was no one in front of me for at least 1/4 mile. Then the BCI indicator came on when there was no vehicle behind me. The braking system started to engage for no apparent reason. I previously owned a 2017 QX60 and experienced the same issues. Infiniti could not correct the issue and I was granted a new vehicle under the lemon law. Unfortunately, my current QX60 has too many miles to consider for the lemon law again.

Higher-selling and older vehicles accumulate more reports. Counts are not failure rates and are not directly comparable between vehicles that sold in very different numbers.
