The contact owns a 2019 Jayco Pinnacle. The contact stated that the frame where the pin box connects to the 5th wheel hitch was built in a way that caused damage to the side wall of the fiberglass. The side wall area began to fracture. The RV was taken to the dealer where it was confirmed that the frame nearby the pin box was built in a way that caused additional damages and was a known issue. The contact was informed that a TSB with NHTSA ID Number: 10208077 (Structure) had the same failure, however, the repair was not covered. The contact was also informed that the additional damage to the side wall was not covered. The RV had not been repaired. The manufacturer was made aware of the failure and opened a case. The failure mileage was 12,000.

The dealer had been notified about the recall; however, the contact was informed that parts were not yet available for the recall repair. The manufacturer had been notified of the recall. The contact stated that the vehicle was taken to the dealer however, the mechanic was unable to provide a diagnostic test. The vehicle was taken to an independent mechanic where the vehicle was repaired. The manufacturer was not notified of the failure. The approximate failure mileage was 8,000.
