The contact owns a 2017 Jayco Jay Flight SLX. The contact stated while the RV was stationary, the interior light started to flicker, and the bulbs were extremely hot. The contact also stated that the battery was draining and that the refrigerator was not functioning properly. The contact took the vehicle to the local dealer, where it was diagnosed, and the mechanic associated the failure with NHTSA Campaign Number: 17V696000 (Electrical System) and 17V290000 (Interior Lighting). The manufacturer had been informed of the failure but informed the contact that the VIN was not included in the recalls. The RV was not repaired but was pending repairs.

TL* THE CONTACT OWNS A 2017 JAYCO JAY FLIGHT SLX TRAVEL TRAILER. THE CONTACT STATED THAT THE CENTER BOLT WAS MISSING, ALONG WITH ONE BOLT ON THE TWO AXLE TRAILER ON THE REAR PASSENGER SIDE LEAF SPRING AND ON THE FRONT DRIVER'S SIDE LEAF SPRING. THE CONTACT REPLACED THE BOLTS. IT WAS DISCOVERED THAT THE AXLE SHIFTED WHEN THE FAILURE OCCURRED. THE DEALER (CAMPING WORLD OF DENVER, 16000 W COLFAX AVE, GOLDEN, CO 80401, (888) 881-9093) HAD NOT SPECIFIED ANY SPECIFIC MANUFACTURER GUIDELINES PERTAINING TO ANY OEM BOLT REPLACEMENT. CAMPING WORLD INDICATED THAT THE TECHNICIAN WHO SERVICED THE VEHICLE WAS NO LONGER WITH THE COMPANY. THE MANUFACTURER WAS CONTACTED. THE TRAVEL TRAILER WAS REPAIRED.

THE CONTACT STATED THAT THE MANUFACTURER EXCEEDED A REASONABLE AMOUNT OF TIME FOR THE RECALL REPAIR. CAMPING WORLD OF INDIANAPOLIS (303 SHEEK RD, GREENWOOD, IN) WAS CONTACTED AND CONFIRMED THAT THE PARTS WERE NOT AVAILABLE FOR THE RECALL REMEDY. THE MANUFACTURER WAS MADE AWARE OF THE ISSUE AND INFORMED THE CONTACT THEY HAD NO KNOWLEDGE OF THE RECALL. THE CONTACT HAD NOT EXPERIENCED A FAILURE.
