TL*THE CONTACT OWNS A 1993 JEEP CHEROKEE SPORT. WHILE THE VEHICLE WAS STOPPED FOR APPROXIMATELY FIVE TO SIX SECONDS, THE CONTACT WAS REAR ENDED. THE TWO FRONT SEATS WENT INTO A FULL RECLINING POSITION. THE CONTACT SUSTAINED INJURIES AND A POLICE REPORT WAS FILED. THE SEATS ARE STILL LOCKED IN THE RECLINED POSITION. THE VIN AND ENGINE SIZE WERE UNKNOWN. THE CURRENT MILEAGE IS 187,100 AND FAILURE MILEAGE WAS 187,050.

DT: THE CONTACT STATED THE HOOD LATCH DID NOT WORK PROPERLY. THIS CAUSED THE HOOD TO OPEN. THIS WAS THE SECOND VEHICLE THAT THE CONTACT OWNED THAT HAD THIS PROBLEM. HE TOOK THE VEHICLE TO THE DEALERSHIP, AND THEY STATED THE HOOD LATCH NEEDED TO BE REPLACED AND HE WILL HAVE TO PAY FOR THE REPAIRS HIMSELF. HE DID GET PARTS FROM A SALVAGE YARD TO TEMPORARILY FIX IT. *AK

POWER WINDOWS FIRST STOPPED FUNCTIONING ON THE PASSENGER SIDES, WHICH THEN PROCEEDED INTO ALL THE WINDOWS. THE PROBLEM THEN CIRCULATED IN POWER LOCK, RADIO, FOG LIGHT, AND DOME LIGHT FUNCTIONALITY. NOW UPON IGNITION OF THE VEHICLE A WIRE UNDER THE DASHBOARD BURNS AND SMOKES.
