1993 Jeep Grand Cherokee Heating & air conditioning Problems

Owner-reported complaints naming the heating or air-conditioning system, filed with NHTSA

Data refreshed

Heating & air conditioning reportsComplaints are reports submitted to NHTSA by owners and drivers. NHTSA does not verify most reports before publishing them, and a complaint does not establish that a defect exists. Volume is influenced by how many of a vehicle were sold, how long it has been on the road, and how much attention an issue has received.

WHEN SHIFTING FROM PARK TO REVERSE OR DRIVE THE TRANSMISSION DOESN'T ALWAYS ENGAGE. YOU HAVE TO TRY SEVERAL TIMES. AT 55-60 MILES AND HOUR ON THE FREEWAY, THE AIR CONDITIONER BLOWS WARM AIR. YOU HAVE TO STOP THE VEHICLE AND LET IT SET BEFORE THE AIR CONDITIONER RESUMES. AND THE INFORMATION MODULE SHOWS THAT THE BRAKE LIGHTS ARE OUT WHEN THEY AREN'T. WE HAVE HAD IT PUT ON A MACHINE TO CLEAR THE MODULE AND IT STILL FLASHED AN INCORRECT MESSAGE. WHEN DRIVING DOWN THE HIGHWAY, AND YOU PRESS THE GAS TO PASS A VEHICLE IT DOESN'T ALWAYS GO INTO HIGH GEAR, IT DRAGS AND YOU HAVE TO LET OFF OT IT AND KEEP TRYING.
