The defect: Keystone RV Company (Keystone) is recalling various 2003-2018 Crossroads, Dutchmen, and Keystone recreational trailers equipped with Kidde Plastic-Handle or Push Button 'Pindicator' Fire Extinguishers. A list of the affected trailer models is available at: https://static.nhtsa.gov/odi/rcl/2017/RMISC-17V755-5127.pdf. These extinguishers may become clogged, preventing the extinguisher from discharging as expected or excessive force may be needed to activate the extinguisher. Additionally, in certain models, the nozzle may detach from the valve assembly with enough force that it could cause injury and also render the product inoperable. The risk: In the event of a fire, if the fire extinguisher does not function properly, it can increase the risk of injury.
The remedy: Keystone will notify owners and instruct them to contact Kidde for a replacement fire extinguisher, free of charge. The recall began on January 15, 2018. The defect: Keystone RV Company (Keystone) is recalling certain model year 2008-2009 Big Sky, Challenger, Everest, Fuzion, Montana, and Raptor travel trailers and fifth wheels equipped with an IOTA ITS-50R transfer switch. These transfer switches, used in vehicles wired to be powered by a generator, may fail when exposed to elevated electrical loads and used in higher ambient temperatures.
The risk: As the transfer switch fails, it may overheat, increasing the risk of a fire.
The remedy: Keystone will notify owners, and dealers will replace the IOTA ITS-50R transfer switch with a different brand transfer switch, free of charge. The recall began on October 8, 2015. Owners may contact Keystone customer service by calling 1-866-425-4369. Keystone's number for this recall is 15-234.

The defect: KEYSTONE IS RECALLING 2,990 MY 2008 EVEREST, MY 2008-2009 HORNET, LAREDO, SPRINTER AND OUTBACK LOFT FIFTH WHEEL AND TRAVEL TRAILERS FOR FAILING TO CONFORM TO THE REQUIREMENTS OF FEDERAL MOTOR VEHICLE SAFETY STANDARD NO. 108 "LAMPS, REFLECTIVE DEVICES, AND ASSOCIATED EQUIPMENT." THE INTERMEDIATE SIDE MARKER LIGHTS ARE MISSING.
The risk: PULLING A VEHICLE AT NIGHT WITHOUT THE PROPER SIDE MARKER LIGHTING INCREASES THE RISK OF OTHER MOTORISTS NOT BEING ABLE TO SEE THE VEHICLE AND COULD POSSIBLY RESULT IN A CRASH.
The remedy: DEALERS WILL INSTALL THE MISSING SIDE MARKER LIGHTS FREE OR CHARGE. THE RECALL BEGAN ON AUGUST 12, 2008. OWNERS MAY CONTACT KEYSTONE AT 1-866-425-4369.

TL*THE CONTACT OWNS A 2008 KEYSTONE EVEREST. WHILE THE VEHICLE WAS PARKED THE CONTACT NOTICED THE WELDING ON THE FRAME WAS BENT, THE CROSS MEMBERS WERE EXTREMELY THIN AND THE WATER HOLDING TANK WAS HANGING FROM UNDERNEATH THE VEHICLE. THE CONTACT STATED THE VEHICLE WAS TAKEN TO A TRAILER REPAIR FACILITY. THE TECHNICIANS STATED THE FRAME NEEDED TO BE TO BE STRAIGHTENED AND THERE WERE BRACES ATTACHED TO THE WATER HOLDING TANK THAT WAS ATTACHED TO THE VEHICLE. THE APPROXIMATE FAILURE MILEAGE WAS 5,000.

TL*THE CONTACT OWNS A 2008 KEYSTONE EVEREST TRAILER. THE TIRES ON THE TRAILER ARE STARTING TO SWELL UNDER 5000 MILES WHICH WERE MANUFACTURER BY TIRECO. THE TIRECO TIRE SIZE WAS 235/80/R16 AND THE DOT NUMBER WAS 4YB3CQ1C1107. THE MANUFACTURER OF THE TIRES STATED THAT THE BLOWOUTS HAVE OCCURRED FREQUENTLY ON THE TIRE BRAND SHE HAD ON THE VEHICLE AND MUST BE GIVEN TO THE MANUFACTURER AND INSPECTED BEFORE THEY CAN BE REPLACED. KEYSTONE CITY RV WHERE THE VEHICLE WAS PURCHASED STATED THAT THEY WERE NOT AWARE OF THE PROBLEM. TIRECO WILL INSPECT THE TIRES, BUT WOULD NOT COMMIT TO PROVIDING REPLACEMENT TIRES. THE CONTACT WAS INFORMED BY ANOTHER TRAILER OWNER THAT TIRECO WAS AWARE THAT THE GUM STRIP THAT BINDS THE TIRE TREAD TO THE STEEL BELT ON THE TIRES WAS NOT PLACED ON THE TIRE WHEN IT WAS MANUFACTURED. THE FAILURE MILEAGE ON THE TRAILER WAS 2900 AND THE CURRENT MILEAGE WAS 4800. UPDATED 06/02/10. *LJ UPDATED 06/18/10.8JB
