2010 Lexus Gs Problems

Owner-reported complaints filed with NHTSA, grouped by component

Data refreshed

Owner complaintsComplaints are reports submitted to NHTSA by owners and drivers. NHTSA does not verify most reports before publishing them, and a complaint does not establish that a defect exists. Volume is influenced by how many of a vehicle were sold, how long it has been on the road, and how much attention an issue has received.

What this page shows

Everything below is an owner-reported complaint submitted to NHTSA about the 2010 Lexus Gs, grouped by the component NHTSA recorded on the report. These are not confirmed defects, and they are not recalls. NHTSA does not verify most reports before publishing them, and a category with more reports in it is not evidence that a part is defective.

Complaints are reports submitted by owners and drivers to NHTSA. They are not verified and do not establish that a defect exists.

THE REPLACEMENT OF MY DEFECTIVE AIRBAG IS TAKING FAR TOO LONG. LEXUS OFFERED TO GIVE US AN ECONOMY SIZE RENTAL CAR BUT, THAT IS NOT LARGE ENOUGH FOR MY FAMILY SO I HAVE CONTINUED TO DRIVE MY UNSAFE CAR. LEXUS HAS NOT GIVEN US ANY INDICATION AS TO WHEN THE REPLACEMENT WILL BE MADE. WE JUST PRAY WE ARE NOT IN AN ACCIDENT OF ANY KIND.

While I was driving at the end of traffic (Light just turned green), when my sunroof (Glass) exploded. Was a very loud bang, glass fell all over the center console, driver side (On my arm, hair) and passenger side. Luckily I was the only one in the car. I informed my insurance of the damage and sent them pictures, I can show you as well.

WHEN THE BRAKES ARE APPLIED WHILE IN DRIVE THE RPMS RANDOMLY INCREASE FROM 500 TO 1000 AND THE CAR INCHES UP UNLESS I APPLY MORE PRESSURE ON THE BRAKES. THIS IS USUALLY NOTICEABLE WHILE I AM IN THE DRIVE-THRU AT FAST FOOD RESTAURANTS WHILE WAITING IN LINE. WHILE WAITING FOR 5 OR SO MINUTES IT USUALLY OCCURS 2-3 TIMES. I RARELY NOTICE IT HAPPEN AT TRAFFIC LIGHTS AS THEY USUALLY DON'T LAST THAT LONG. IT HAPPENS AT LEAST A FEW TIMES A WEEK.

VEHICLE WANDERS AT HIGHWAY SPEEDS REQUIRING CONSTANT STEERING CORRECTIONS TO KEEP IT ON THE ROAD. CORRESPONDENCE BETWEEN FACTORY AND OWNER BEING MAILED. THE CONSUMER STATED THE STEERING WAS NOT DESIGNED PROPERLY SINCE IT TENDS TO OVER ASSIST AND AT HIGHER SPEEDS DOES NOT ADJUST BY ADEQUATELY INCREASING THE STEERING RATIO TO COMPENSATE FOR THE HIGHER SPEED. THE VEHICLE WOULD WANDER ON CERTAIN ROAD SURFACES WHICH REQUIRED CONSTANT CORRECTION TO KEEP IT IN A STRAIGHT LINE. THE VEHICLE SIMPLY DID NOT TRACK. THE CONSUMER STATED THE VEHICLE HAS ELECTRIC POWER ASSIST STEERING. UPDATED IVOQ 08/12/10 *TR
