2007 Lincoln Mkz Brakes Problems

Under the following recall [XXX] Recall was performed in 2022 by Ford of Upland by replacing only the brake fluid. The problem resurfaced just as described in the recall a while back. I contacted Ford on 5/21 they contacted the dealer who refused to repair at no cost. Car is currently at independent respected shop who confirmed that the ABS pump/module is shot and is gummed up. Recall by ford of upland was not performed fully or wasn’t effective. Replacing the fluid only was not a fix. I contacted the dealer and the general manager refused to repair and fought with me on the phone. I told them I’d be filing a lawsuit if they wouldn’t provide the part at no cost and reimburse the repairs. Ford/Lincoln has stated there is nothing they can do without the dealers cooperation. I do not trust Ford of Upland to make any repairs, but that wasn’t even an option. Lincoln also stated that because Ford of Upland did the recall that they couldn’t send it to Performance Lincoln. Varsity Ford Lincoln is refusing to fix open recalls. My vehicle has been sitting with them for 90 days. Lincoln is refusing to help. Now the dealership in a letter is stating they are not going to fix the open recalls because I have to pay them money to fix my brakes before they'll do that in a text. They are extorting me.

Car is inoperable due to the brake issue and airbag issue. Lincoln refuses to assist with getting it towed or working with the dealership. They will say that they do these things or are trying to help but they do not. This has been going on for 5 years. Dealerships will not fix the vehicle because the vehicle is too old they are telling me. The car is sitting and cannot be driven and nobody will help. I can't sell it I can't drive it I can't use it I can't do anything.

The contact owns a 2007 Lincoln MKZ. The contact stated that after having the rotors replaced, while driving approximately 30 MPH and attempting to stop the vehicle, the brake pedal was depressed and went to the floorboard. The vehicle coasted before coming to a complete stop. There were no warning lights illuminated. The contact stated that there was a grinding sound coming from the rear of the vehicle while reversing. Additionally, was a slight delay while shifting gear. The contact also stated that the air bag warning light was illuminated. The contact stated that the vehicle was repaired; however, the failure was persistent during cold weather. The vehicle was taken to an independent mechanic however, the mechanic was unable to duplicate the failure. The vehicle was taken to the dealer to be diagnosed; however, the dealer was unable to determine the cause of the failure. The brake pads and rotors had been replaced approximately 3 to 4 times. The vehicle was returned to the dealer but was not repaired. The manufacturer was not made aware of the failure. The approximate failure mileage was 95,000.

THE RECALL IS STILL NOT AVAILABLE WHICH HAS ALLOWED THE VEHICLE TO SUFFER LONG-TERM DAMAGE TO THE BRAKING SYSTEM. LINCOLN DEALERSHIP HAS ATTEMPTED TO MANAGE THE PROBLEM AT OWNER'S EXPENSE OVER THE YEARS BY REPLACING BRAKE PADS, STILL AT 40% AND ROTORS WHICH HAVE NO GROOVING OR WARPING. SINCE PURCHASE DATE, THE VEHICLE HAS HAD AN ELECTRONIC ISSUE WITH THE BRAKING SYSTEM, WHICH IS TRIGGERED ANYTIME THE ANTI-LOCK BRAKING SYSTEM IS ACTIVATED WHILE THE VEHICLE IS IN MOTION OR ATTEMPTING TO STOP SUDDENLY. THE CPU RESPONDS WITH MULTIPLE SIGNALS ACROSS THE DASH, SOMETIMES SHUTTING OFF THE VEHICLE. THE BRAKING SYSTEM AND THE CPU ARE USUALLY RESET WHEN THE VEHICLE IS RESTARTED. VEHICLE HAS BEEN RETURNED TO LINCOLN DEALER FOR SERVICE. TRACTION CONTROL WAS TURNED OFF AND RETURNED TO OWNER. MY VEHICLE IS HAVING A DIFFICULT TIME BREAKING. HAVE CHANGED ROTORS AND BREAKS MULTIPLE TIME TO REMEDY THE PROBLEM AS I HAVE ALMOST BEEN IN 3 ACCIDENTS DO TO MY BREAKS SLIPPING. THE SLOPING HAS OCCURRED 2 TIMES WHILE DRIVING ON THE FREEWAY ONCE IN OCTOBER 2020 AND THEN AGAIN IN JANUARY 2021 I WAS GOING 63 MILES AN HOUR AND WHEN I WENT TO PRESS ON THE BRAKES DUE TO TRAFFIC APPROACHING THE VEHICLE HAD A HARD TIME COMING TO A STOP. I HAD MY BRAKES AND ROTORS RE-DONE AFTER THE FIRST INCIDENT IN NOVEMBER 2020. II AM CONCERNED ABOUT THE AMOUNT OF TIME IT HAS TAKEN FOR MY VEHICLE TO BE EVALUATED FOR POTENTIAL BRAKING PROBLEMS. MY INQUIRY PERTAINS TO AN EXISTING RECALL (19V-904). I RECEIVED A SECOND LETTER FROM LINCOLN YESTERDAY REGARDING THIS MATTER THAT STATES THAT THE PARTS WILL BE AVAILABLE DURING THE FIRST QUARTER OF 2021! CONSIDERING THAT THE RECALL WAS ISSUED IN DECEMBER OF 2019, WHY IS THIS TAKING SO LONG, ESPECIALLY BECAUSE IT INVOLVES POTENTIALLY LONGER BRAKING DISTANCE NEEDED TO BRING THE CAR TO A STOP? I FIND THIS DELAY TO BE UNACCEPTABLE.
