THIS CONDITION, IF NOT REMEDIED, CAN CONTINUE UNTIL THE PACKING NUT BACKS COMPLETELY OFF THE STAGE. IF THIS OCCURS, THERE IS NOTHING TO RETAIN THE FIFTH STAGE (PLUNGER) IN THE ASSEMBLY.
