The defect: MONACO IS RECALLING CERTAIN MOTOR HOMES EQUIPPED WITH NORCOLD REFRIGERATORS. A FATIGUE FAILURE IN THE SECTION OF THE COOLING UNIT WHICH CONTAINS THE REFRIGERANT COULD ALLOW THE LIQUID SOLUTION TO SLOWLY LEAK.
The risk: EXTENDED OPERATION OF A LEAKING COOLING UNIT COULD LEAD TO A FIRE FROM GAS WHICH MIGHT ESCAPE.
The remedy: MONACO IS WORKING WITH NORCOLD TO REPAIR THESE REFRIGERATORS. NORCOLD WILL PROVIDE THERMAL SWITCH KITS TO OWNERS ALONG WITH THE NECESSARY FORMS AND INSTRUCTIONS. THE RECALL BEGAN ON AUGUST 29, 2008. OWNERS MAY CONTACT NORCOLD AT 1-800-767-9101 OR MONACO AT 1-800-685-6545.

SERVICE BRAKES, AIR:CONTROLS, PEDALS AND LINKAGES

The defect: ON CLASS A MOTOR HOMES BUILT WITH A STEERABLE AUXILIARY AXLE AND EQUIPPED WITH CERTAIN MERITOR-WABCO BRAKE SYSTEM TWO AND FOUR PORT RELAY VALVES, THE VALVE MAY STICK OPEN WHEN A HIGH-PRESSURE BRAKE APPLICATION IS RELEASED.
The risk: WHEN THE VALVE STICKS OPEN, IT CAN RESULT IN A TOTAL LOSS OF AIR FROM EITHER THE SERVICE OR THE PARK BRAKE SYSTEM. THE DRIVER MAY LOSE BRAKING ABILITY UNDER A SERVICE APPLICATION, POSSIBLY RESULTING IN A VEHICLE CRASH.
The remedy: DEALERS WILL REPLACE THESE VALVES. MERITOR WABCO IS CONDUCTING THE OWNER NOTIFICATION AND REMEDY FOR THIS CAMPAIGN. OWNERS WHO TAKE THEIR VEHICLES TO AN AUTHORIZED DEALER ON AN AGREED UPON SERVICE DATE AND DO NOT RECEIVE THE FREE REMEDY WITHIN A REASONABLE TIME SHOULD CONTACT MERITOR WABCO AT 800-535-5560 OR MONACO AT 1-877-466-6226.

The defect: VEHICLE DESCRIPTION: MOTOR HOMES EQUIPPED WITH TAG AXLES. WELDS USED TO SECURE THE TAG AXLE TO THE TAG AXLE DRIVE SHAFT LOOP COULD FAIL.
The risk: AS A RESULT, THE TAG AXLE TUBE COULD SEPARATE FROM THE DRIVE SHAFT LOOP, MOVE OUT OF ALIGNMENT, AND CONTACT CHASSIS COMPONENTS RESULTING IN DAMAGE TO THE TIRE AND CHASSIS COMPONENTS. IT MAY BE POSSIBLE FOR THE TAG AXLE TO BE TORN FROM THE CONTROL TOWER AND SEPARATE FROM THE MOTOR HOME.
The remedy: DEALERS WILL INSPECT THE WELDS, RE-WELD AND ADD SUPPORT GUSSETS. OWNER NOTIFICATION BEGAN OCTOBER 18, 2001. OWNERS WHO TAKE THEIR VEHICLES TO AN AUTHORIZED DEALER ON AN AGREED UPON SERVICE DATE AND DO NOT RECEIVE THE FREE REMEDY WITHIN A REASONABLE TIME SHOULD CONTACT MONACO AT 1-800-685-6545.

WHILE DRIVING AT 50 MPH, THE VEHICLE CAUGHT ON FIRE. THE FIRE STARTED IN THE FRONT END BETWEEN THE HEADLIGHT AND THE CENTER OF THE VEHICLE. THE VEHICLE'S ENGINE WAS LOCATED IN THE BACK. *AK *SC

WHEN THE VEHICLE HAD 45 GALLONS OF FUEL OR LESS AND MADE A RIGHT HAND TURN THE VEHICLE STALLED. BY THE CONSUMER PULLED OVER THE RV STARTED BACK UP. THE PAINT ON THE DRIVERS SIDE BLISTERED AND THE PAINT ON HE PASSENGER SIDE HAD SWIRL MARKS. THE OUTSIDE DOOR HANDLE FELL OFF. THE WINDSHIELD WAS REPLACE. BOTH KEYLESS REMOTES WERE INOPERATIVE. THE BRAKE LIGHT ON THE DRIVERS SIDE WENT OUT. THE CHASSIS BATTERY WENT DEAD IN LESS THAN TEN DAYS. THE LIGHT FIXTURE COLLECTED WATER INSIDE WHICH DRIPPED INSIDE THE RV. THE KITCHEN SLIDE WAS CROOKED WHICH RESULTED IN WIND NOISE INSIDE THE RV. *NLM *NLM
