WHILE TRAVELING IN MY MOTOR HOME WITH A CUMMINS ISL-400 DIESEL ENGINE A HIGH PRESSURE FUEL LINE FEEDING THE COMMON RAIL INJECTOR SYSTEM CRACKED AND LEAKED FUEL THROUGHOUT THE ENGINE COMPARTMENT INCLUDING THE EXHAUST SYSTEM. WHEN REPAIRED AT THE CUMMINS SERVICE CENTER IN EL CAJON, CA, THEY SAID THAT THIS WAS A PROBLEM WITH THE ISL ENGINE AND THAT THERE WAS A "FIX" TO THE PROBLEM. AFTER REPLACING THE CRACKED FUEL LINE THEY ALSO INSTALLED A SUPPORT BRACKET FOR THE FUEL LIME THAT SHOULD PREVENT VIBRATIONS THUS ELIMINATING CRACKING OF THE LINE. MY QUESTION IS, IF THEY KNOW ABOUT THE PROBLEM WHY HASN'T A RECALL BEEN ISSUED TO INSTALL THE SUPPORT BRACKET TO PREVENT CRACKING AND FUEL LEAKS WHICH COULD LEAD TO POSSIBLE FIRES IN THE ENGINE COMPARTMENT??? I WAS REALLY SURPRISED THAT THERE WASN'T A FIRE WITH ALL THE FUEL THAT LEAKED OVER THE HOT EXHAUST SYSTEM. *JB

Manufacturer communications
A bulletin sent by a manufacturer to its dealers. Not a recall, and repairs are not necessarily free.

Manufacturers file copies of the bulletins they send to dealers with NHTSA. These often describe diagnostic or repair procedures for a known condition. They are not recalls: repairs described in a bulletin are usually only free if the vehicle is still under warranty or the manufacturer has extended coverage.
Compare model years
Complaint and recall counts across every year of this model
Higher-selling and older vehicles accumulate more reports. Counts are not failure rates and are not directly comparable between vehicles that sold in very different numbers. Older model years have had longer for reports to accumulate.
