1995 Plymouth Grand Voyager Interior & seats Problems

Owner-reported complaints naming the interior system, filed with NHTSA

Data refreshed

Interior & seats reportsComplaints are reports submitted to NHTSA by owners and drivers. NHTSA does not verify most reports before publishing them, and a complaint does not establish that a defect exists. Volume is influenced by how many of a vehicle were sold, how long it has been on the road, and how much attention an issue has received.

TWICE, NOW, THE DRIVER SIDE RECLINER MECHANISM LET LOOSE AND MY SEAT BACK WENT INTO FULL DECLINE WHILE I WAS DRIVING! FIRST WAS IN JUNE, 1997, AND NOW IN JANUARY, 1999. IT REALLY SCARED ME AND I WONDER IF THIS IS A COMMON PROBLEM. I DRIVE FAIRLY CONSERVATIVELY, I AM NOT OBESE, I ALWAY USE LAP/SHOULDER BELTS. THE THOUGHT OF POSSIBLY LOSING CONTROL AT HIGH SPEED MAKES ME WANT TO ASK FOR A PERMANENT LOCK ON THE SEAT, ALTHOUGH I DO CHANGE THE POSITION EVERY SO OFTEN FOR COMFORT. LUCKILY, I AM THE PRIMARY DRIVER. MY WIFE FEARS TO DRIVE THE VAN. PLEASE REPORT THIS TO THE APPROPRIATE PEOPLE AT CHRYSLER. I'VE PAID $219.00 ON THE RECENT INDIDENT (INVOICE 169536 OF 1/22/99 FROM ELMHURST DODGE, DEALER #51-57002, I.E. #36-2474717) AND THE EARLIER ONE IN JUNE '97 WAS A SIMILAR AMOUNT, BUT I DON'T KNOW THE INVOICE NUMBER. I CAN'T BE THE ONLY ONE. SINCERELY, TEMPLE E. NIETER
