The defect: THE REAR AXLE SHAFTS MAY CONTAIN A FLAW IN THE METAL. THIS FLAW COULD ALLOW THE SHAFT TO BREAK AND THE TIRE AND WHEEL ASSEMBLY TO SEPARATE.
The remedy: THE DEALER WILL REPLACE ONE OR BOTH REAR AXLE SHAFTS, IF NECESSARY, FREE OF CHARGE.

The defect: ON THE INVOLVED VEHICLES, THE INCORRECT STEERING LINKAGE ASSEMBLY MAY HAVE BEEN INSTALLED. AS A RESULT, THE RIGHT-HAND STEERING TIE ROD MIGHT INTERFERE WITH THE INTERMEDIATE ROD. THIS COULD CAUSE THE CONNECTION TO FAIL DUE TO EXCESSIVE STRESS AT THAT POINT.
The remedy: DEALER WILL INSPECT AND, IF NECESSARY, REPLACE THE STEERING LINKAGE ASSEMBLY WITHOUT CHARGE.

THE VIN # GIVEN IS CORRECT (AND ONLY 12 DIGITS). TRAVELING HWY. 44 ON WAY TO NAVAJO LAKE. FRONT LEFT FENDER BEGAN TO VIBRATE. AT CUBA NM, TREAD SEPARATED AND THEN TIRE BLEW OUT. I WAS FORCED TO PULL OVER TO THE LEFT AND EXIT THE ROADWAY, NEXT TO A DEL PRADO MOTEL.*AK (DOT NUMBER: W2VYEL3207 TIRESIZE: HR78-15)
