The defect
Altec industries, Inc. is recalling certain 2014-2026 AT Series Aerial Device vehicles. The transmission park interlock may be missing, allowing the aerial device to operate while the chassis is not in park.
The risk
An aerial device that operates while the vehicle is in gear or neutral can cause unexpected vehicle movement and increase the risk of injury.
The remedy
Altec will update the electrical harness and control modules, free of charge. Owner notification letters were mailed August 7, 2026. Owners may contact Altec customer service at 1-877-462-5832. Altec's number for this recall is CSN-3331.
A safety recall is issued when a manufacturer or NHTSA determines that a vehicle has a safety-related defect or does not comply with a federal motor vehicle safety standard. Recall repairs are free. Whether a specific vehicle is covered depends on its VIN — a recall listed for a model year does not necessarily apply to every vehicle of that year.
