The defect

VEHICLE DESCRIPTION: MINI MOTOR HOMES. THE ROUTING OF THE WIRE LOOM IN THE ENGINE IS TOO CLOSE TO THE ENGINE BLOCK.

The risk

CONTACT BETWEEN THE WIRE LOOM AND THE ENGINE BLOCK CAN CAUSE SMOKE AND/OR FIRE IN THE ENGINE BLOCK AREA.

The remedy

DEALERS WILL RELOCATE THE WIRE AWAY FROM THE ENGINE BLOCK.

OWNER NOTIFICATION BEGAN JUNE 30, 1998.OWNERS WHO TAKE THEIR VEHICLES TO AN AUTHORIZED DEALER ON AN AGREED UPON SERVICE DATE AND DO NOT RECEIVE THE FREE REMEDY WITHIN A REASONABLE TIME SHOULD CONTACT JAYCO AT 1-219-825-5861.ALSO CONTACT THE NATIONAL HIGHWAY TRAFFIC SAFETY ADMINISTRATION'S AUTO SAFETY HOTLINE AT 1-888-DASH-2-DOT (1-888-327-4236).
