2009 Saturn Aura Interior & seats Problems

Owner-reported complaints naming the interior system, filed with NHTSA

Data refreshed

Interior & seats reportsComplaints are reports submitted to NHTSA by owners and drivers. NHTSA does not verify most reports before publishing them, and a complaint does not establish that a defect exists. Volume is influenced by how many of a vehicle were sold, how long it has been on the road, and how much attention an issue has received.

The car turned off while driving on the highway. The car just recently within the last year or so started giving us electrical problems. The mechanic on August 14, 2025. Replaced the alternator, the second within 3 years. The battery replaced twice within 3 years, as well. Internal dashboard light flickers. The car fails to start several times a month. The driver & passenger seats is not stable, it shifts or moves. The battery's pos and neg poles are extremely hot. Steering wheel stiffened up hard to maneuver. The above problems are ongoing throughout the years. My wife hears a popping sound coming from under the hood.

THE RIGHT LOW BEAM LIGHT WENT OUT, TRIED TO REPLACE IT AND FOUND OUT THAT THIS IS IMPOSSIBLE TO REPLACE BY THE OWNER. IT REQUIRES REMOVING THE FRONT BUMPER AND SPECIAL TOOLS OVER $300 AT THE DEALER TO REPLACE A HEADLAMP. MEANWHILE ONE LIGHT. HAVING HEADLIGHTS IS A SAFETY ISSUE! ALSO THE DRIVER SIDE SEAT FRAME BROKE UNDER NORMAL USE AND CAN NO LONGER BE ADJUSTED

THE BACK RIGHT WELD ON MY DRIVERS SEAT BROKE. I WAS DRIVING ONE DAY AND HEARD A LOUD POP AND IT SOUNDED LIKE MY SEAT SKIPPED GROVES IN MOVEMENT, BUT MY SEAT IS POWER. THE BACK RIGHT WELD SNAPPED AND I FEEL THIS IS A MANUFACTURE PROBLEM. I WEIGH 206 LBS SO IT'S NOT AN ISSUE OF BEING TOO "HEAVY" AND RECENT POSTS SAY IT CAN COST UP TO 1000$ TO FIX. I FIND THIS SHOULD BE A RECALL.

SHE LOST HER BALANCE AND FELL, LOSING HER BALANCE, BROKE HER WRIST. SHE COULD NOT OPEN THE DOOR BECAUSE IT WAS LOCKED AUTOMATICALLY.. THE CAR IS A 2009 SATURN AURA. THE MANUAL SAYS THAT AUTOMATIC LOCKING OF DOORS IS PROGRAMMED AND CAN'T BE CHANGED. THIS IS NOT SAFE!! SHE COULD HAVE BEEN THROWN UNDER THE CAR. *TR
