Owner complaintsComplaints are reports submitted to NHTSA by owners and drivers. NHTSA does not verify most reports before publishing them, and a complaint does not establish that a defect exists. Volume is influenced by how many of a vehicle were sold, how long it has been on the road, and how much attention an issue has received.

Safety recallsA safety recall is issued when a manufacturer or NHTSA determines that a vehicle has a safety-related defect or does not comply with a federal motor vehicle safety standard. Recall repairs are free. Whether a specific vehicle is covered depends on its VIN — a recall listed for a model year does not necessarily apply to every vehicle of that year.

InvestigationsNHTSA opens an investigation to examine whether a safety defect may exist. An open investigation is not a determination that a defect exists, and many investigations close without a recall. Investigations can, however, lead to one.
0
Crash or fire reportedComplaints whose submitter recorded that a crash or a fire occurred. These are the reporter's own answers on the NHTSA form, not verified findings.

The defect: Thor Motor Coach (TMC) is recalling certain 2020-2021 Sequence and Tellaro motorhomes. The dinette booth seat belts may be too short preventing them from being usable by some occupants. As such, these vehicles fail to comply with the requirements of Federal Motor Vehicle Safety Standard (FMVSS) numbers 208, "Occupant Crash Protection" and 209, "Seat Belt Assemblies."
The risk: Inability to use the seat belt may increase the risk of injury in the event of a crash.
The remedy: TMC will notify owners, and dealers will replace the 18-inch seat belt tether with a 24-inch tether on both sides of the dinette booth, free of charge. This recall began September 16, 2020. Owners may contact TMC customer service at 1-877-855-2867. TMC's number for this recall is RC000198.

I am the owner of a Thor Sequence 20K RV built on a 2022 Ram ProMaster 3500 chassis, purchased new in Florida. My vehicle Vin [XXX] is subject to safety recall # 25V-720 involving a potential engine fire- compartment fire risk. There is no repair or remedy currently available and no timeline has been provided by the manufacturer. Because of the fire risk, the vehicle is unsafe to operate. In addition the open safety recall has rendered the vehicle unsellable and untradeable, causing substantial loss of value and use through no fault of my own . Dealers and sale platforms refuse to accept the vehicle due to unresolved fire risk recall. The vehicle is a RV which increases the severity of safety risk due to fuel, electrical systems and living components. I am requesting NHTSA to review due to ongoing safety hazard and lack of manufacturer resolution. INFORMATION REDACTED PURSUANT TO THE FREEDOM OF INFORMATION ACT (FOIA), 5 U.S.C. 552(B)(6)

Higher-selling and older vehicles accumulate more reports. Counts are not failure rates and are not directly comparable between vehicles that sold in very different numbers. Older model years have had longer for reports to accumulate.
