Owner complaintsComplaints are reports submitted to NHTSA by owners and drivers. NHTSA does not verify most reports before publishing them, and a complaint does not establish that a defect exists. Volume is influenced by how many of a vehicle were sold, how long it has been on the road, and how much attention an issue has received.

Safety recallsA safety recall is issued when a manufacturer or NHTSA determines that a vehicle has a safety-related defect or does not comply with a federal motor vehicle safety standard. Recall repairs are free. Whether a specific vehicle is covered depends on its VIN — a recall listed for a model year does not necessarily apply to every vehicle of that year.

InvestigationsNHTSA opens an investigation to examine whether a safety defect may exist. An open investigation is not a determination that a defect exists, and many investigations close without a recall. Investigations can, however, lead to one.
0
Crash or fire reportedComplaints whose submitter recorded that a crash or a fire occurred. These are the reporter's own answers on the NHTSA form, not verified findings.

FUEL SYSTEM, GASOLINE

On certain 2018 Buses, the fuel tank sending unit port was incorrectly located. This location causes the fuel gauge to read incorrectly, showing less fuel than is actually in the tank. The tank will read empty when it is still 1/4 of the way full. The repair will consist of removing the existing fuel sending unit, and installing a new sending unit properly calibrated for the port location on the tank. The repair will need to be done at a PowerGlide Service Center at no charge to customer.

ELECTRICAL SYSTEM:12V/24V/48V BATTERY; ELECTRICAL SYSTEM:SOFTWARE; EQUIPMENT:OTHER:OWNERS/SERVICE/OTHER MANUAL

There is the possibility that the inverter may stop charging the house batteries after one charging sequence even with the motorhome plugged into shore power. This could lead to the house batteries not charging while plugged into shore power. To repair this, the multiplex system program needs to have a programming update installed. Tiffin included parts and instructions needed to update the system by taking to our dealer or a reputable dealer of their choice free of charge to customer.

ELECTRICAL SYSTEM:12V/24V/48V BATTERY

There is the possibility that the merge solenoid may not connect the chassis batteries to the house batteries when the engine is running. This would accur when the house battery voltage is too low. This could cause the house batteries not to charge while the engine is running and the house battery voltage is low. Tiffin included parts and work instructions for customer to take to our dealer or reputable service center of their choice free of charge to customer.

Manufacturers file copies of the bulletins they send to dealers with NHTSA. These often describe diagnostic or repair procedures for a known condition. They are not recalls: repairs described in a bulletin are usually only free if the vehicle is still under warranty or the manufacturer has extended coverage.

Higher-selling and older vehicles accumulate more reports. Counts are not failure rates and are not directly comparable between vehicles that sold in very different numbers. Older model years have had longer for reports to accumulate.
