The defect: Tiffin Motorhomes, Inc. (Tiffin) is recalling certain 2025-2026 Open Trail motorhomes equipped with an optional diesel or propane generator. The wiring harness may contain incorrectly sized wires.
The risk: An undersized wire can overheat, increasing the risk of a fire.
The remedy: Dealers will replace the wiring harness, free of charge. Owner notification letters were mailed February 12, 2026. Owners may contact Tiffin customer service at 1-256-356-8661. Tiffin's number for this recall is WAY-106. Vehicle Identification Numbers (VINs) involved in this recall will be searchable on NHTSA.gov beginning February 20, 2026.

2025 and 2026 Open Trail Motorhomes need to have the 12 volt charging system upgraded in order to extend the battery life for using the motorhome while not connected to an electrical charging system (boondocking).

ELECTRICAL SYSTEM

Tiffin Motorhomes issued a technical service bulletin for Open Trail Motorhomes with a 51V battery system and a hydronic heating system. It was found that operating the hydronic heating system on the diesel burner would cause a temporary overload of the electrical system which would shut down. To solve this issue, 2 new DC-DC converters are being installed.
