i have have 2 problems, both was recalls, but this one they say expired in 2021 when i bought the car and toyota dealer didnt tell me had recall so i could fix it before it expired. there is a class action lawsuit in the brake booster, master cyclinder actuator abs pump fialing loosing brakes making grrr noises leaking all brake fluid out continously dangerous to drive can cause bad accident wreck since i drive down the hwy alot and this is the only car i have to drive, i also have dc inverter module /sensor that is killing off 3 batteries now that i installed in 3 months, and toyota dealers wont fix unless it shows error but its a recall so since problen should fix this recall but wont pay for it to fix it even though it a recall right now that is not expired. im upset 3 dealers wont do it unless then charge me to do it. when toyotal mfg take it to any dealer and they will fix free but no one will do it. toyota mfg needs to make these dealers fix these 2 recalls on this car that can kill me and my passengers and anyone on the road that i could hit by not haivng controll brakes or the hybrid system shuttong completely down and could even kill a pedestrian with these 2 recalls that dealers wont fix but mfg said they need to everyone with these cars i see are having these same problems. need make the toyota mfg and dealers fix these free of charge before more people get killed injuried or cause more accidents ,

While driving through the mountains, the ABS, Brake, and Slippery (traction control) warning lights all suddenly illuminated on the dashboard. This happened without any noticeable trigger, and the warning lights remained on for the duration of the drive. I'm concerned about potential issues with the braking or stability systems and request a diagnostic check to ensure everything is functioning properly. Also I am aware that there was recall on Prius 2010 related to ABS system. My VIN was not included in that but seems like similar issue

My ABS system light is on. The Toyota mechanic has determined that it is due to Nitrogen gas from a component of the brake booster pump assembly could leak into the brake fluid. As nitrogen is released into the brake fluid, the brake pedal may have reduced hydraulic pressure. Under certain circumstances, this condition could affect stopping distance and increase the risk of a crash. Toyota recalled model year 2010 Prius vehicles manufactured March 31, 2009, through October 9, 2009. I took my Prius to Toyota to fix this ABS recall problems but they are refusing to fix the problem for free. They are charging me $4000 to fix it.

I am writing to express my concern regarding an issue with the PCS System dash lights on my 2010 Toyota Prius. I recently became aware of problems related to the brake booster system, which I understand have been addressed through recalls or warranty extensions on certain models. I believe that the issue I am experiencing should be covered under warranty, and I kindly request your assistance in resolving this matter.

Twice while I was driving on the highway, my ABS and brake light came on, and my brakes became less sensitive to pressure. That is to say, it took more effort and I had to push my brakes further towards the floor in order for them to respond. I went to an independent mechanic and got the code C1391 which indicates a brake pump accumulator issue. I went to a Toyota dealership and and had the car inspected. They confirmed the C1391 code and said the brake booster assy with master cylinder pump assy was malfunctioning. However, I was never told by Toyota that this issue meant my brakes could fail at any time. My safety and the safety of others was put at risk because my brakes spontaneously became less responsive, my stopping distance was increased, and they were at risk of spontaneous failure.

Heading westbound on I-70, taking Exit 29 off ramp from highway, I drove over uneven pavement. My traction control, ABS and brake lights illuminated, the brakes suddenly felt mushy. As I approached the stoplight at the end of the exit ramp, I questioned whether I would be able to stop. Scared me immensely. Luckily no cars were near me. I now do not have ABS, Traction Control, stability control OR regenerative braking.

The ABS Pump( Accumulator and booster) are regularly failing on all Toyota Prius( 2010-2015). When the ABS pump starts to fail, the warning lights for Traction control, Brake and ABS come on. These lights come on at all speeds and its very hard to bring the vehicle to a complete stop when this happens. The brakes completely stop working and the brakes become rock solid. The brakes become so hard that they can’t be possibly be depressed to stop in time. I nearly missed getting killed from this as I am out of country and Toyota is refusing to fix it since its not a recall and I am in Canada. Toyota is asking $3500 in parts and $1500 in labor to repair. I can not afford it and this issue is on all Prius from 2010-2015. This is a major safety hazard and can cause serious injury and damage. Toyota is refusing to repair it since they believe the cars are out of warranty. However Toyota has been notified about this safety hazard arising on all Prius(2010-2015) but decline to respond or take action. I urge NHTSA to take action and get this resolved as the ABS brakes failing on the Prius can be really dangerous and can cause life threatening accidents.

My car accelerated significantly on its own while I was pulling into a parking stall in a private parking lot. It caused my vehicle to jump a curb and accelerate up a dirt divider and push over a bush that was planted in the dirt divider. Depressing my brakes did not Decelerate the car, so I pressed the Park button to eventually stop the vehicle. I’m not sure what speed it was traveling when it accelerated, but I could smell burning rubber at the end of the incident. I’m not sure when the smell first occurred.

NTSA please do your due diligence and investigate the faulty, defective HYBRID system as I believe the faulty inverter recall is much more larger than the original recall

A warranty extension went out a few years back that said one might receive a "CHECK PCS SYSTEM" warning on the dash. This has happened to us, along with 7 other lights on the dash. Between the brakes being much less responsive, and all of the pre-crash warning / adaptive cruise / radar features being disabled, this could have caused an accident. The dealer checked out the car and states that the brake actuator has a leak and that it will be a costly repair - no less than $3000. This suspiciously all happened *just* outside of the warranty window (we are within the allowed number of miles but just out of time), and also suspiciously after Toyota released an upgraded version of the actuator, and *also* after a bunch of people are experiencing the same failure. Our best assessment at this time is that the brake actuators have a factory defect and that a recall should be done.

Many Prius 2010 have this issue, I'm sure I'll need to replace the actuator and/or accumulator and I know that will cost a good bit, i hope Toyota could help us fix it.

The ABS, VSC/traction control, and brake system warning lights all came on at the same time in my 2010 Toyota Prius. I almost lost control of my car's braking ability. Afterwards, the hybrid system does not perform its regenerative braking/recharging any longer. And the cruise control mode doesn't work also. The DTC from the OBD2 port is C1391 - abnormal leak in the brake fluid accumulator. I found out that this issue is widespread among Gen 3 Priuses, but Toyota has not made this officially a recall campaign, but classifies it as a "customer support bulletin." But the issue is dangerous enough that it should be a recall item. I moved homes in fall of 2018, and Toyota says it mailed out a letter about this brake issue and resulting campaign, but I never received the letter. I was totally unaware that this was a safety issue, that Toyota acknowledged it, and that this safety issue with an ongoing "recall" campaign with an expiration date. Toyota denies that this is a recall issue, and will not provide this service. I would like for NHTSA to reopen and investigate this issue, and make Toyota issue a general recall campaign to resolve this dangerous safety problem with the car.

I was driving my 2010 Toyota Prius and my car started beeping when I was driving when I tried to slow down the car was not able to stop the breaking system ABS started displaying and my car started to beep and it won’t stop beeping. I did take my car to the dealer for a recalled inspection after my car broke down and I was no longer able to drive for my own safety. After I took the car to Downey Toyota for hybrid recall they didn’t tell me anything but on the document they gave me it did state that the ABS was a problem. Now my car is still not able to be used because of my own safety concerns since the vehicle won’t break when I put the brake pedal and a none stop beeping sound that won’t stop at all.

My brakes have been making hissing noises whenever I press on the brake pedal for the past year. While driving on the freeway 300 miles from my home, numerous lights on my dashboard came on including brake, VSC, PCS, ABS, Triangle and "CHECK PCS SYSTEM" warning message. The brake also makes pumping noise every 4 seconds. The vehicle has no regenerative braking. The brake pedal is mushy and doesn't slow the car down until the pedal is fully depressed. I contacted Toyota and was told that there was a Customer Support Program ZJB that covers 2010-2015 Prius Vehicles for Brake Booster and Brake Booster Pump Assemblies. However, that program only covers 10 yrs 150 miles. My Prius has 110k miles but it's 21 months passed the program coverage. The car is dangerous to drive and Toyota will not honor the recall. I am stuck with a car with no brakes.
