2019 Vanderhall Venice Problems

Owner-reported complaints filed with NHTSA, grouped by component

Data refreshed

Owner complaintsComplaints are reports submitted to NHTSA by owners and drivers. NHTSA does not verify most reports before publishing them, and a complaint does not establish that a defect exists. Volume is influenced by how many of a vehicle were sold, how long it has been on the road, and how much attention an issue has received.

What this page shows

Everything below is an owner-reported complaint submitted to NHTSA about the 2019 Vanderhall Venice, grouped by the component NHTSA recorded on the report. These are not confirmed defects, and they are not recalls. NHTSA does not verify most reports before publishing them, and a category with more reports in it is not evidence that a part is defective.

Complaints are reports submitted by owners and drivers to NHTSA. They are not verified and do not establish that a defect exists.

BOLT THAT ATTACHES THE RIGHT SIDE PUSHROD HAS LOST THE NUT AND THE BOLT IS REMOVING ITSELF FROM THE UPPER CONTROL ARM. THIS PUSHROD KEEPS TENSION ON THE SHOCK ABSORBER AND THE SPRING. WHEN THE BOLT IS GONE, THE SUSPENSION WILL PARTIALLY COLLAPSE. THIS WILL RESULT IN A LOSS OF DIRECTIONAL CONTROL. THE BOLT IS NOT LONG ENOUGH TO BEGIN WITH. THE THREADS OF THE BOLT DO NOT LOCK TO THE ELASTIC NUT---SIMILAR TO AN AN364. A MINIMUM OF 1.5/2 THREADS SHOULD BE PROTRUDING OUT OF THE NUT. THE LEFT SIDE OF THE VEHICLE STILL HAS THE BOLT AND NUT ATTACHED. YOU CAN SEE THAT THE BOLT IS NOT LONG ENOUGH AND THE NUT IS NOT LOCKED TO THE THREADS. THE BOLT IS ALSO OF THE WRONG TYPE. THE BOLT HAS NO "GRIP LENGTH". THE BOLT IS 100% THREADED PASSING THRU METAL STRUCTURE. THE THREADS ARE POTENTIAL SAW BLADES. I HAVE NOTIFIED THE DEALER I BOUGHT IT FROM AND THEY SENT PICTURES OF THE PROBLEM TO VANDERHALL. VANDERHALL WILL NOT RETURN PHONE CALLS TO THEM OR ANSWER THE EMAILS. I HAVE CALLED VANDERHALL AND THEY WILL NOT RETURN MY CALLS. VANDERHALL HAS ISSUED A SERVICE CAMPAIGN FOR ANOTHER SUSPENSION PROBLEM #202001. THIS IS TRULY AN EMERGENCY. IF THEY BUILT OTHER VEHICLES IN THE SAME MANNER AND THE BOLT COMES OFF OF THE VEHICLE, SOMEBODY COULD POTENTIALLY GET KILLED WHEN THE SUSPENSION COLLAPSES. THE VEHICLE WAS STATIONARY WHEN I DISCOVERED THIS. *TR
