What this page shows
Everything below is an owner-reported complaint submitted to NHTSA about the 2007 Vespa LX 150, grouped by the component NHTSA recorded on the report. These are not confirmed defects, and they are not recalls. NHTSA does not verify most reports before publishing them, and a category with more reports in it is not evidence that a part is defective.
Complaints are reports submitted by owners and drivers to NHTSA. They are not verified and do not establish that a defect exists.

I HAVE A BRAND NEW 2007 VESPA LX 150 SCOOTER WHICH I PURCHASED ON JULY 19, 2008. I HAVE OWNED IT FOR 10 DAYS AND HAVE ONLY 35 MILES ON IT. TONIGHT WHILE RIDING I EXPERIENCED A STUCK THROTTLE WHICH COULD HAVE RESULTED IN SEVERE INJURIES TO MYSELF OR OTHERS HAD I BEEN RIDING IN TRAFFIC. LUCKILY I WAS RIDING IN A RESIDENTIAL AREA BUT THERE WERE CHILDREN PLAYING NEARBY! I HAD TO USE THE KILL ENGINE SWITCH IN ORDER TO CUT THE ENGINE TO PREVENT A RUNAWAY SCOOTER AND A DEVASTATING ACCIDENT. I HAD TO WALK THE SCOOTER HOME, APPROXIMATELY A HALF MILE. I WILL BE CALLING PIAGGIO AND THE DEALER IN STATE COLLEGE, PA IN THE MORNING TO REPORT THIS PROBLEM AND HOPEFULLY GET SATISFACTORY RESOLUTION. I THINK A STUCK THROTTLE IS NOT SUPPOSED TO BE A COMMON PROBLEM, BUT WHEN IT HAPPENS IT IS EXTREMELY DANGEROUS. *TR
Too few reports in this category for a page of its own — they appear in the full complaint list.
Higher-selling and older vehicles accumulate more reports. Counts are not failure rates and are not directly comparable between vehicles that sold in very different numbers.
