Owner complaintsComplaints are reports submitted to NHTSA by owners and drivers. NHTSA does not verify most reports before publishing them, and a complaint does not establish that a defect exists. Volume is influenced by how many of a vehicle were sold, how long it has been on the road, and how much attention an issue has received.

Safety recallsA safety recall is issued when a manufacturer or NHTSA determines that a vehicle has a safety-related defect or does not comply with a federal motor vehicle safety standard. Recall repairs are free. Whether a specific vehicle is covered depends on its VIN — a recall listed for a model year does not necessarily apply to every vehicle of that year.
0
InvestigationsNHTSA opens an investigation to examine whether a safety defect may exist. An open investigation is not a determination that a defect exists, and many investigations close without a recall. Investigations can, however, lead to one.
0
Crash or fire reportedComplaints whose submitter recorded that a crash or a fire occurred. These are the reporter's own answers on the NHTSA form, not verified findings.

I received recall notice 22V-343 from White River Marine Group related to axle hub bearings on my Tracker Marine single axle trailer. I took the trailer into the BPS service center in Auburn Hills, MI and they performed the required maintenance / inspection. Three days later I took the trailer on vacation and the bearing overheated and caused the bearing buddy and chrome hub cap to come off. I sent a text of the defective / broken hub to the BPS service station but did not hear back. I was unable to proceed to my destination and had to take the trailer to a local service station in Naubinway, MI where it remained for two days. I had to purchase a replacement hub and pay to have it installed. Upon returning home I called White River Marine Group and was directed back to the BPS Auburn Hills Service Center. I called them and left a message but did not hear back. I believe the technician overfilled the hub with grease causing the bearing seal to fail and am concerned the other hub may fail as well. I'm also out $150 and am still missing the factory installed hub and cap on the defective axle.

Higher-selling and older vehicles accumulate more reports. Counts are not failure rates and are not directly comparable between vehicles that sold in very different numbers. Older model years have had longer for reports to accumulate.
