I OWN 2 BMW 335D'S, ONE A 2010 AND THE OTHER A 2011. I CANNOT KEEP THESE CARS ON THE ROAD. I HAVE HAD "SERVICE ENGINE SOON" LIGHTS CONSTANTLY. EVERY CODE LEADS BACK TO THE EMMISSIONS SYSTEM ON THESE DIESELS. THE LATEST IS AN SCR CODE THAT IS THOUSANDS OF DOLLARS TO REPAIR. BMW CAME OUT WITH A 10 YEAR 120K MILE EXTENDED WARRANTY ON THE PROBLEM. THEY SHOULD HAVE COME OUT WITH A RECALL! I HAVE HAD SO MANY SERVICE ENGINE LIGHTS I CANNOT AFFORD TO KEEP THESE CARS ON THE ROAD. THESE CARS ARE WORSE THAN THE VW DIESELS. THE CARS RUNS GREAT, YET BECAUSE OF THE SERVICE LIGHTS THE RPAIRS ARE MORE COSTLY THAN THE CARS ARE WORTH. I ASKED THE MURRIETA BMW TO ASK BMWNA TO SEE IF THEY WOULD REPAIR THE SCR ACTIVE TANK AND WAS DECLINED. I RUN THE 2010 BMW MANY MILES ON THE FREEWAYS SO THE SCR ACTIVE TANK PROBLEM DIDN'T SHOW UP UNTIL 186K MILES. MY 2011 BMW WHICH ISN'T DRIVEN ON FREEWAYS IS MUCH HAD TO HAVE THAT TANK REPLACED AT 117K MILES. WHEN TALKING WITH THE MURRIETA BMW SERVICE MANAGER, HE AGREED WHEN I TOLD HIM THESE CARS ARE CRAP. WHEN THE SERVICE MANAGER HAD NOTHING GOOD TO SAY ABOUT THE CARS THAT SPEAKS VOLUMES. THE BLOGS ON THE COMPUTER ARE LOADED WITH COMPLAINTS ABOUT THE EMISSION AND DEF SYSTEMS ON THESE DIESELS. HELP, I TRUELY HAVE TWO CARS RIGHT NOW THAT ARE WORTHLESS! THE SERVICE MANAGERS ADVICE WAS TO TURN THEM IN TO A DEALERSHIP AND GET NEW(ER) CARS... REALLY, PASS THE PROBLEM ONTO SOME OTHER UNSUSPECTING PERSON WHEN BMW KNOWS THESE CARS ARE MORE THAN A PROBLEM - UNBELIEVABLE!

BLOWER MOTOR RECALL: MY CAR WAS TAKEN IN BY BMW THE BEGINNING OF FEBRUARY FOR THE RECALL, OR SO I THOUGHT. THE PERSON I TALKED TO IN THE SERVICE DEPARTMENT ALERTED ME THAT THERE WAS A RECALL AND THAT MY CAR WAS UNDER IT. A WEEK OF THEM HAVING IT GOES BY AND THE TECH I TALK TO TELLS ME THAT, NO MY CAR WASNT PART OF IT AND I HAD OTHER ISSUES THAT THEY QUOTED ME FOR BUT COULDNT DIRECTLY SAY HOW THEY CONCLUDED THEY WERE FAULTY, HIS NAME WAS CARLOS UP AT CLASSIC BMW IN WILLOUGHBY HILLS, OH. I THEN TELL THE SA I REFUSE TO TALK TO THAT TECH BECAUSE HE DOESNT SEEM TO HAVE PROPER KNOWLEDGE ON THE CAR ID LIKE TO SPEAK WITH SOMEONE ELSE. THE SA THEN CONFIRMS THAT MY CAR IS UNDER RECALL BUT THEY CANT DO ANYTHING BECAUSE THEY DONT KNOW WHEN THEY WILL BE SERVICING OR GETTING PARTS FOR IT. I ASKED IF THEY COULD CHECK IT TO MAKE SURE ITS NOT A SAFETY ISSUE FOR MINE AND HE TELLS ME THAT BECAUSE THEY WONT KNOW WHEN THEY WILL GET REIMBURSED FOR THE LABOR JUST TO LOOK AT IT, THAT THEY COULDNT DO ANYTHING. THEY LET ME DRIVE MY CAR OFF THE LOT WITH AN SES LIGHT ON, NOT CHECKING MY RECALL, MY BLOWER MOTOR FAN DOESNT EVEN WORK PROPERLY. NOT TO MENTION THAT THEY TOLD ME MY ALTERNATOR AND BATTERY WERE BAD AND COULDNT RUN DIAGNOSTICS OR ANYTHING ON IT. I BASICALLY DROVE OFF THEIR LOT THINKING THEY DIDNT DO ANY KIND OF INSPECTION ON THE CAR. THEY WANTED ME TO PAY 2000 JUST TO START ON WHAT WAS WRONG. I JUST GOT THIS CAR 1 YEAR AGO AND HAVENT HAD ANYTHING WRONG UNTIL THIS MONTH WHERE EVERYTHING SEEMS TO BE GOING WRONG SAFETY WISE. LIMP MODE, LIMIT DRIVING, DRIVE MODERATELY, CHARGE MALFUNCTION, SENSORS LIGHTING LIKE A CHRISTMAS TREE. I NEVER RECEIVED LETTERS ABOUT A RECALL. ANY REPLY WOULD BE MUCH APPRECIATED. THANK YOU, JORDAN

Manufacturer communications
A bulletin sent by a manufacturer to its dealers. Not a recall, and repairs are not necessarily free.
ELECTRICAL SYSTEM; VISIBILITY:POWER WINDOW DEVICES AND CONTROLS
The basic conditions for initializing the power windows are not met.
ELECTRICAL SYSTEM
The electrical system of BMW vehicles has been subject to an ongoing development process over the last few years. This has led to increased demands being placed on the battery. This document covers important information for the dealer on how to handle âÂÂdischarged batteryâ complaints.
SERVICE BRAKES, AIR:DISC; STEERING: STEERING WHEEL/HANDLE BAR
Diagnosis of Compound Brake System Complaints in M Vehicles: 1. Visible cracks are caused by high thermal stresses during rapid heating and cooling of the brake discs. Braking from high speed with cold brake components (less than 212 degrees F) increases the likelihood of cracks to form.
ELECTRICAL SYSTEM; EQUIPMENT; EQUIPMENT ADAPTIVE/MOBILITY
Discharged Battery Energy Diagnosis Must Be Performed: The electrical system of BMW vehicles has been subject to an ongoing development process over the last few years. This has led to increased demands being placed on the battery. This document covers important information for the dealer on how to handle "discharged battery" complaints. In order to properly repair the vehicle the first time in the workshop, it is very important that the diagnostic test plans are performed to completion, with all results taken into consideration. Without performing the energy diagnosis test plan, the root cause of the discharged battery cannot be identified. This increases the chances of a repeat repair.
ELECTRICAL SYSTEM; POWER TRAIN
Power Reduction FC2A82 Intake VANOS and/or FC2 A87 Exhaust VANOS Camshaft Fault: The "Service Engine Soon" (MIL) lamp is illuminated and engine power reduction is perceived. This situation can occur after driving for some time with the engine at full operating temperature. If the ignition is cycled the engine then usually performs normally.
ELECTRICAL SYSTEM; VISIBILITY:REARVIEW MIRRORS/DEVICES:EXTERIOR
"Outside Door Mirror Moves when Locking or Unlocking the Vehicle. The door mirror tilts immediately after unlocking or locking. The mirror position does not correspond to the memory position preset by the customer. Pressing the seat memory button typically will return the mirror to the stored position. Poor electrical contacts of the mirror drive in the mirror housing INFORMATION The problem has been integrated into ISTA diagnostics. Follow the diagnosis test plan using the latest ISTA version. In Information Search, select the "Function Structure"" tab. Select Body, Mirror, Door mirror, Driver's or passenger side, Exterior Mirror Malfunction, and then press "Start Search". Select test plan ""AM5102_00010".
Manufacturers file copies of the bulletins they send to dealers with NHTSA. These often describe diagnostic or repair procedures for a known condition. They are not recalls: repairs described in a bulletin are usually only free if the vehicle is still under warranty or the manufacturer has extended coverage.

Higher-selling and older vehicles accumulate more reports. Counts are not failure rates and are not directly comparable between vehicles that sold in very different numbers. Older model years have had longer for reports to accumulate.
