The defect: BMW of North America, LLC. (BMW) is recalling certain 2023-2025 BMW, MINI, and Rolls-Royce vehicles. Please see the recall report for a complete list of models and model years. The integrated brake (IB) system may malfunction and result in a loss of power brake assist or cause the Antilock Brake (ABS) and Dynamic Stability Control (DSC) systems to not function properly.
The risk: A loss of power brake assist can extend the distance required to stop the vehicle. Additionally, malfunctioning ABS and/or DSC systems can cause a loss of vehicle control. Either of these scenarios can increase the risk of a crash.
The remedy: Dealers will replace the integrated brake system, free of charge. Owner notification letters were mailed between June and December 2024. Owners may contact BMW customer service at 1-800-525-7417 or Rolls Royce customer service at 1-877-877-3735.

The defect: BMW of North America, LLC (BMW) is recalling certain 2023-2024 740i, 740i xDrive, 760i xDrive, i7 eDrive50, i7 xDrive60, i7 M70, 2024 750e xDrive, 530i, 530i xDrive, i5 eDrive40, and i5 M60 vehicles. The ground connection to the steering wheel may not have been attached correctly, resulting in an inoperative hands-on detection system.
The risk: An inoperative hands-on detection system may fail to detect when the driver's hands are not on the steering wheel and therefore not engage the emergency stopping assistant system, increasing the risk of a crash.
The remedy: Dealers will inspect and reattach the ground connection as necessary, free of charge. Owner notification letters were mailed December 8, 2023. Owners may contact BMW customer service at 1-800-525-7417.

The defect: BMW of North America, LLC (BMW) is recalling certain 2023 740i, 760i xDrive and i7 xDrive60 vehicles. The windshield wipers may fail during certain weather conditions.
The risk: Windshield wiper failure can reduce visibility, increasing the risk of a crash.
The remedy: Dealers will inspect and replace the windshield wiper system, as necessary, free of charge. Owner notification letters were mailed November 15, 2023. Owners may contact BMW customer service at 1-800-525-7417.

The recall for the Integrated Braking System has been on going since February with no remedy! This is unfair to us. They haven’t offered any kind of compensation in regards to this recall either.

The contact stated while driving at an undisclosed speed, the vehicle stalled when the contact depressed the brake pedal. There was no warning light illuminated. The contact depressed the brake pedal forcefully to stop the vehicle. The vehicle was able to restart; however, the failure recurred. The dealer was contacted. The vehicle was not diagnosed or repaired. The manufacturer was not made aware of the failure. The failure mileage was approximately 3,000. VIN tool confirms parts not available.

Twice this month while driving normally and at a moderate speed a message flashed on the monitor that the emergency braking system was engaged. The car slowed dramatically and suddenly. Without thinking I braked or pressed the accelerator. Luckily, the car returned to normal speed. When the braking system engaged unsecured objects were thrown around. If a car was behind me I could have easlily been rear ended.

The contact owns a 2023 BMW 760I. The contact stated that while driving at an undisclosed speed and attempting to slow the vehicle, upon attempting to depress the brake pedal, the contact became aware that the brake pedal was stiff and stuck in position. After which, the message "Drive Carefully; Braking System Failure" was displayed. The contact stated that the vehicle came to a complete stop independently after the Forward Collision Avoidance: Automatic Emergency Braking system was activated. The vehicle returned to normal functionality, but the failure became a regular occurrence. The service brake warning light was illuminated. The vehicle was taken to the dealer, who diagnosed failures with the ABS control module and brake sensor. The vehicle was not repaired. The manufacturer was notified of the failure, and a case was opened. The failure mileage was 900.

Vehicle brakes gave out while driving and would not stop. System generated an email of the incident from manufacturer. Dealership informed that they have seen this before and its is a simple fix with a brake booster but no recalls are currently recalling the vehicle. The warning appeared as it happened.

STEERING

At low outside temperatures (below 40 degrees F) and slow driving speeds (i.e. when parking, maneuvering)with a large steering angle, the front end can be slightly axially misaligned. This can be felt (jerking)/ heard via an acoustic acknowledgement (clunk) as seen at the 11 second mark of the video. See attached video V36 01 21.
