I leased this car Jan. 2 2025 and have now had multiple cracks on 3 out of 4 wheels on the car which has been repaired and now the right front wheel has been replaced with the tire and in the dealership again needing to replace the rear 2 wheels secondary to cracks with what BMW has told me that the front right tire needs to be replaced again which was recently replaced in april because of a cracked rim and the two rear wheels need to be replaced which I replaced the right rear wheel about 1 year ago. This is now 3 wheels and 3 tires that I have already replaced 2 tires and no impact event just normal commuting freeway driving to work and back home. In 1.5 years I had to now replace 3 wheels and the front right tire and rear right tire twice and now the left rear tire. This seems to be a pattern and I feel this car is not safe to drive. Its in the shop getting the rear two wheels replaced but if this has happened for just leasing it for 1.5 years. The question is when is this going to occur again and if it does is it going to cause me to have an accident to possibly hurt myself or somebody else on the road because of a wheel crack and loss of control especially when I am commuting with this car.

While driving, the vehicle experienced a sudden catastrophic failure involving the engine and turbocharger, resulting in an immediate loss of power and the vehicle becoming disabled in an active roadway. The failure occurred without warning and required a response from the San Diego Police Department due to the vehicle being immobilized in traffic. This created a hazardous situation for the driver and surrounding vehicles. The vehicle had approximately 26,000 miles at the time of failure. The vehicle was later inspected by an authorized BMW dealership, which acknowledged the failure but attributed it to a non-OEM oil filter without providing any technical explanation or evidence showing causation. A sudden loss of power in a moving vehicle presents a significant safety risk, especially when it occurs without warning and leaves the vehicle stranded in traffic.

Manufacturers file copies of the bulletins they send to dealers with NHTSA. These often describe diagnostic or repair procedures for a known condition. They are not recalls: repairs described in a bulletin are usually only free if the vehicle is still under warranty or the manufacturer has extended coverage.
Compare model years
Complaint and recall counts across every year of this model
Higher-selling and older vehicles accumulate more reports. Counts are not failure rates and are not directly comparable between vehicles that sold in very different numbers. Older model years have had longer for reports to accumulate.
