The defect: PACCAR Incorporated (PACCAR) is recalling certain 2024-2026 Kenworth T480, T680, T880, W990, Peterbilt 520, 536, 537, 548, 567, 579, 589, 2025 Kenworth T180, Peterbilt 535, 2025-2026 Kenworth T280, T380 and L770 vehicles. The tail brake light, upper and lower beam headlights, reverse light, and turn signal may not illuminate as intended. In addition, the lift axles, if lowered, may revert to a raised position, or oscillate up and down when the signal warning lights are activated. As such, these vehicles fail to comply with the requirements of Federal Motor Vehicle Safety Standard (FMVSS) number 108, "Lamps, Reflective Devices and Associated Equipment."
The risk: Delayed and unsteady headlights can result in insufficient illumination of the road, decreasing the driver's visibility and increasing the risk of a crash. In addition, an unexpected position change of the lift axles may increase the risk of injury.
The remedy: Dealers will update the VCU software, free of charge. Owner letters were mailed August 19, 2025. Owners may contact Kenworth's customer service at 1-425-828-5888 and Peterbilt's customer service at 1-940-591-4220. PACCAR's number for this recall is 25PACF.

The defect: PACCAR Incorporated (PACCAR) is recalling certain 2024 Peterbilt 367, 2026 Peterbilt 548, 589, and 2024-2026 Peterbilt 567 trucks. The rear brake piping assembly may have insufficient clearance, which can result in a loss of service brakes or anti-lock brake function.
The risk: Brake failure can increase the risk of a crash.
The remedy: Dealers will install new brake hoses and correct the rear brake piping assembly, free of charge. Owner letters were mailed September 8, 2025. Owners may contact Peterbilt's customer service at 1-940-591-4220. PACCAR's number for this recall is 25PBE.

The defect: PACCAR Incorporated (PACCAR) is recalling certain 2021-2025 Peterbilt and Kenworth vehicles, equipped with Bendix EC80 Advanced Electronic Control Units (ECU). Please see the recall report for a complete list of models. Electrical noise and low signal to the power line carrier may cause the ECU to incorrectly process commands or stop functioning.
The risk: Safety systems that depend on the ECU (Automatic Traction Control, ABS, Electronic Stability Control, Active Cruise Control, and Collison Mitigation System) may not function properly or at all, increasing the risk of a crash.
The remedy: Dealers will reprogram the ECU software, free of charge. Owner notification letters were mailed February 3, 2025. Owners may contact Kenworth's customer service at 1-425-828-5888 and Peterbilt's customer service at 1-940-591-4220. PACCAR's numbers for this recall are 24KWL and 24PBL.

The contact owns 2024 Peterbilt 567. The contact stated that while driving 25 MPH, there was a strong fuel odor coming from the vehicle. No warning lights were illuminated. The vehicle was driving to the dealer to be diagnosed and it was determined that the fuel tank was faulty and needed to be replaced. The vehicle was not repaired. The manufacturer was attempted to be notified; however, the manufacturer was no longer in business. The approximate failure mileage was 20,000.

Right side transmission stalk failed. Truck shut down and was only able to get partially out of 4 lane highway. Truck had to be towed as it would not reset/clear. Dealer replaced transmission stalk. Despite there being a safety recall for these devices (24v-190), and this truck meeting all requirements to be included in the recall, Peterbilt says it is not included and is currently offering no cost covered repair. We also had another truck have the same issue a few months ago.

The procedure has been updated to include additional steps for verifying the software level on the vehicle electronic control unit (VECU2) and digital display (DD). Steps have also been added to the PACCAR Common Rail Injection 2 (PCI2) software verification.
