Owner-reported complaints naming the seat belt system, filed with NHTSA
Data refreshed
Seat belts reportsComplaints are reports submitted to NHTSA by owners and drivers. NHTSA does not verify most reports before publishing them, and a complaint does not establish that a defect exists. Volume is influenced by how many of a vehicle were sold, how long it has been on the road, and how much attention an issue has received.

I OWN A 1997 CHEVY ASTRO VAN CUSTOM. THE REAR SEATBELTS DO NOT WORK IN THE BACK BENCHSEAT. THEY HAVEN'T WORKED SINCE WE BOUGHT THE VEHICLE WE HAVE FOUGHT AND FOUGHT TO GET THIS ISSUE FIXED. THE GO IN WITH A SCREWDRIVER AND POP IT AND SAY IT'S OK. IT"S NOT OK> KIDS SIT BACK THERE. OR AT LEAST THEY ARE SUPPOSED TO. I CAN'T ALLOW ANYONE TO USE THOSE SEATS. I AM AFRAID TO GET SOME FROM THE JUNKYARD AND FOR 30,000. I SHOULD HAVE WORKING SEATBELTS. *TR
