2009 Chevrolet Suburban Body & structure Problems

Owner-reported complaints naming the body or structure system, filed with NHTSA

Data refreshed

Body & structure reportsComplaints are reports submitted to NHTSA by owners and drivers. NHTSA does not verify most reports before publishing them, and a complaint does not establish that a defect exists. Volume is influenced by how many of a vehicle were sold, how long it has been on the road, and how much attention an issue has received.

Dashboard cracked around the corner of the passenger side air bag and manufacturer did not recall. It appears there are many vehicles with this problem and could be a potential safety issue if the airbag malfunctioned and caused parts of dash to break and rupture air bag or fly into passengers of vehicle in the event of a crash.

MY DASH HAS CRACKED IN SEVERAL LOCATIONS, TO THE POINT THAT PIECES ARE GOING TO START FALLING INWARD. THE LARGEST CRACKS ARE AROUND THE DRIVER SIDE HUMP ABOVE THE CLUSTER. THIS CRACK WAS NOT DUE TO ANY NEGLECT OR BANGING. IT JUST APPEARED ONE MORNING. IT HAPPENED ABOUT 6 MONTHS AGO. THANK YOU *TR

DASHBOARD ON THE DRIVER SIDED CRACKED INTO 2 PIECES. I AM NOT THE ONLY ONE WHO HAVE HAD THIS ISSUES. I FOUND QUITE NUMBERS OF OWNER HAVE THE SAME PROBLEM. THIS IS NOT THE QUALITY YOU EXPECT FROM $50K VEHICLE, I BELIEVE IT IS DUE TO "POORLY" FINISHED JOB. GM SIMPLY REFUSES TO TAKE FULL RESPONSIBILITY AND FORCES ME TO PAY SO CALLED, "DEDUCTIBLE". I BELIEVE THE NHTSA SHOULD LOOK INTO THIS MATTER. THANK YOU. *TR
