From owner reports, verbatim
It happened to my wife with our three kiddos in the car, she was on the freeway doing speed limit 65 when the car just shut off going around a corner at night all of everything shut off including head lights, power steering, and moter it almost through her and kids off the road in the dark ,the wipers shut off whenever they want and the healights off and on without warning, the horn blows unpredictable like , eceleration from bogging down to super fast causes the car to swerve and jerk around unpredictabley the windows sometimes work and sometimes not, once in a while car wont start and or stalls while driving. I'm really worried and scared my wife and kids are going to get hurt or killed or hurt someone else because of these electrical issues. I was so happy to buy my wifey something nice ,safe and sound to drive kiddos back and forth and take me to work and back for it to only turn out super unsafe and unpredictable , we love our crysler 200 still but its unsafe and needs to be addressed as soon as we can before anyone gets hurt or killed, I'll do anything to get help with resolving this issue. It needs help that I cant provide, or afford I'm still happily paying for it crossing my fingers nothing else this scary happens.
The first time this incident occured I was driving in a residential neighborhood and my horn started randomly honking. Over the past few months the horn will randomly start honking and will continously honk for long periods of time. The horn will blast for miles and there is nothing that I can do to make it stop. I have been pulled over because of this and it's terrible driving at night with the horn blaring. The horn does not work regularly anymore. Then my car started shutting off while driving with no warning lights and total loss of anything that is powered (steering, brakes, etc). I have had to pull over on the freeway in unsafe areas, stuck in the middle of intersections with kids in the car also. After shutting off sometimes I am able to start it right away and it will be fine and other times it wont start and after some period of time it will finally start. I replaced the battery and got a new key fob but neither one has fixed these issues. On top of the random horn blaring and car completely shutting off while driving I now have begun having issues with my transmission. It started randomly not shifting while driving causing me to have to pull over and restart the car after about 5 mins. I have had to pull off the freeway to restart my car. The transmission issue was random at first but I haven't been able to drive my car at all because it will NOT shift after 10 MPH. It is automatic with manual option (which I never use) but it will not shift gears in auto mode or manual. The horn blaring is not only embarrassing but the loudness of it is detrimental to a persons hearing. I have read many reports of this particular car having these same issues and the fact that it completey shuts off without warning and loss of power steering, brakes is extremely dangerous especially when traveling on freeways/highways at 70MPH not only for me and my children but the other drivers around me. I have not had it diagnosed or repaired by a mechanic due to the transmission issue.

Reports naming forward-collision avoidance, lane keeping, back-over prevention, cruise control and related electronic driver-assistance systems.
From owner reports, verbatim
I HAVE BEEN TIWED TWICE A D STUCK ON SIDE OF THE ROAD 4 TIMES. I'LL BE DRIVING ALONG WHEN EVERYTHING JUST QUITS. ENGINE, POWER STEERING AND POWER BRAKES. ONE TIME I WAS JUST ABOUT TO GET ON A HIGHWAY. COULDN'T GET CAR 100% OFF ROAD. VERY DANGEROUS. WHEN I TRY TO RESTART CAR IT TRYS TO START. I LET GO OF KEY AND CAJR JUST KEEPS TRYING TO START. AFTER BEING TOWED TWICE CAR STARTED RIGHT UP. SO WHEN IT QUITS I GIVE IT ABOUT 10-15 MINUTES AND IT STARTS. GOOGLED AND PEOPLE HAVING SAME PROBLEM. UPON INVESTIGATING I FOUND THAT CHRYSLER, JEEP HAS BEEN HAVING THIS PROBLEM SINCE 2011 AND DID A RECALL ON THE 2015S. IF THEY KNOW THERE IS A PROBLEM, WHY AREN'T THEY FIXING IT??
THE CAR CONSISTENTLY STALLS OUT AT LEAST 4-6 TIMES A TRIP IN THE MIDDLE OF DRIVING, IF NOT MORE. IT ALSO HONKS ON ITS OWN DURING THAT TIME. IT WAS BROUGHT TO THE DEALERSHIP AND A SHOP AND THEY COULDN'T FIND ANYTHING WRONG
Steering
Reports naming the steering system — racks, columns, power-steering assist and steering linkage.
From owner reports, verbatim
WHEN DRIVING THE VEHICLE WILL SUDDENLY SHUT OFF. NO WARNING OF IT ABOUT TO HAPPEN JUST DOES. I LOSE STEERING AND BRAKES AND TURNS ON ONLY AFTER TIME GOES BY OR BY REMOVING NEGATIVE TERMINAL FROM BATTERY. IT'S HAPPENED AT 35MPH AND AT 60 MPH. I'VE GONE A WEEK WITH NO INCIDENT TO HAVING IT HAPPEN DOZENS OF TIMES ON A SINGLE TRIP. VERY SCARY SITUATION. ESPECIALLY IN TRAFFIC.
TL* THE CONTACT OWNS A 2012 CHRYSLER 200. WHILE DRIVING 35 MPH THE STEERING WHEEL CEASED AND THE VEHICLE STALLED. THE CONTACT WAS ABLE TO RESTART THE VEHICLE AFTER FIVE MINUTES. WHILE DRIVING AND MAKING A LEFT TURN THE VEHICLE STALLED AGAIN. WHILE ATTEMPTING TO START VEHICLE THERE WAS ABNORMAL TICKING NOISE DETECTED. THE ABS AND TRACTION CONTROL WARNING LIGHTS WERE ILLUMINATED. ADDITIONALLY, THE SPEEDOMETER WAS INOPERABLE. THE LOCAL DEALER WAS NOT CONTACTED. THE MANUFACTURER WAS CONTACTED BUT NO FURTHER ASSISTANCE WAS PROVIDED. THE FAILURE MILEAGE WAS 114,000.

For weeks now ive been noticing a weird grinding or dry rubbing sound underneath the front end of my chrysler. Checked it out a few times, as though i am not a mechanic i can identify the basics of something not right. However, after my husband and his brother both looking it over on seperate occasions, they have noted a leak under the carriage of the car. Often here recently, the guage senses an over heating of some sort. Since this notice, we have replaced the oil cooler twice in a year; as well as flushed the hoses associated with the coolant reservoir. Fixed temporary but has now already started getting too hot. Which simply tells me that its something further internal thats wrong. I was informed of an engine recall: L33 of my chrysler model. However havent seen one on this website. When driving yesterday, i noticed a light on my cluster that indicated the traction has failed. When i brake, all u hear or feel is a vibration under your feet, up front. I replaced my brake pads all 4, within the past 4 months and theyre now rusted over and u notice a brake fluid leak on the front right side. After a light, the grinding noise, the vibration and the overheating; i am positive that this will eventually cause a car stall or worse a fatal accident. My brakes could eventually fail while driving in traffic, causing a crash. Or my car could just all out stalland the cluster can trip and i could be in harms way if at the time it does this i could be goin 70 on the interstate or in a turninglane in town and without proper fix; it could easily cause a fatal accident and i could be killed or worse my children!

THE DASHBOARD LIGHTS AND THE HEAD AND BACK LIGHTS WILL FLICKER ON AND OFF. THE CAR HAS SHUT OFF WHILE DRIVIING IN TRAFFIC. SOMETIMES IT DOESNT START AT ALL , I HAVE TO BAQNG THE DOOR AND THEN THE LOGHTAS WILL COME ON. I PUT A BRAND NEW BATTERY AND ALTINTOR IN THE CAR AND MY NECHNANIC DOESNT HAVE A CLUE WHAT IS WRONG WOTH IT. BELIEVE IT TO BE THE COMPUTER SYSTEM.
Body & structure
Reports naming the vehicle structure, frame, body panels, doors, hood and trim.
From owner reports, verbatim
THE 2016 CHRYSLER 200 has a defect in it , the drain hoses become plugged and flood the interior of the car. There is no easy way to access these hoses without taking apart the cowl under the hood of the car and removing the windshield wipers to access the drain. It has happened now three times costing 500 each time to have it cleaned and blown out ... There needs to be something done about this . As it can cause electrical problems in the car with all the water that floods in through the heater area... Chrysler is well aware of this problem all the way back to the Sebring yet they have done nothing to correct it . They ever tell the buyer that this need to be cleaned and they really provide no access to the owner to clean the area without disassemble of the cowl area and windshield wipers. Which is more than most buyers can do , when you take it to Chrysler they tell you its Maintenace . Yet it is no where in the book Nore covered by their Maintenace package. It will rot out the car Floor boards and will cause the car to be worth less .... Chrysler should have to make this right with all owners either offering a free cleaning every year of a rebate on their vehicle

MY COMPLAINT CONCERNS THE GOODYEAR EAGLE LS2 P225/50R18 94T S2 B01RPTL M63HBHDR2711 TIRE. I'VE HAD THIS TIRES AROUND 34,000 MILES AND ON THREE OF THE TIRES THE TREAD WAS SEPARATING CAUSING UNUSUAL TREAD WEAR IN SPOTS AND BUBBLING AND A SAFETY HAZARD. THE BUBBLING WAS BAD ENOUGH FOR ME TO NOTICE A WOBBLE IN MY STEERING WHEEL. I FIND SUCH WEAR IRREGULAR AND TO HAPPEN ON THREE TIRES ALL DURING THE SAME PERIOD OF TIME UNUSUAL. I HAVE MY CAR SERVICED AT REGULAR INTERVALS AND MY SERVICE PROVIDER NEVER FOUND ANYTHING IRREGULAR ABOUT THE WEAR ON MY TIRES UNTIL RECENTLY. SUCH SWIFT AND IRREGULAR WEAR SHOULD BE RECORDED AND ACTED UPON BECAUSE IT DOES POSE A RISK HAZARD TO DRIVERS WHO MAY EXPERIENCE A BLOWOUT ON THE ROAD DUE TO THE SEPARATION AND BUBBLING. *TR
THIS VEHICLE OUT OF SERVICE .COULD OF CAUSE A COLLISION OR CAUSE BODY INJURY OR DEATH , I STARTED THE CAR WENT ABOUT 100 FEET OR MORE, CAR MADE A LOUD NOISE ,CAR STOPPED SUDDENLY BY ITSELF, THEN BRAKE PART FLEW RIGHT OFF RIGHT ON THE ROAD. HAD TO PUSH CAR TO THE NEAREST CORNER. CALLED DEALER SERVICE, CALLED MY INSURANCE. I HAVE FULL COVERAGE, BUT NO RESPONSE AT THE TIME. I SIGNED HARDSHIP PACKET FROM THE BANK FOR HELP, BUT WAS REPOSSESSED, SO DEALER COULD NOT PICK THE CAR . I MADE A COMPLAINT FEBRUARY 12,2013 TO BAKERSFIELD CHRYSLER - JEEP ABOUT MY BRAKES SQUEALS AND MY TIRES ALWAYS DISPLAY LOW PRESSURE. SERVICE DEALER SAID THERE IS NOTHING TO FIX THEY SQUEAL BECAUSE OF DIRT AND THEY ARE WET AND TIRES NEED MORE AIR BECAUSE OF WEATHER CHANGE. I BROUGHT THIS CAR BRAND NEW. I SENT A FORMAL WRITTEN LETTER ADDRESSED TO NHTSA, PLUS DOCUMENTS THAT WILL SUBSTANTIATE MY SITUATION. UPDATED 03/13/14
