1992 Chrysler New Yorker Brakes Problems

Owner-reported complaints naming the brake system, filed with NHTSA

Data refreshed

Brakes reportsComplaints are reports submitted to NHTSA by owners and drivers. NHTSA does not verify most reports before publishing them, and a complaint does not establish that a defect exists. Volume is influenced by how many of a vehicle were sold, how long it has been on the road, and how much attention an issue has received.

THE BRAKE MOTOR MAKES A NOISE, THE PEDAL IS HARD. WHEN I TOOK IT TO THE DEALERSHIP BECAUSE THERE IS A LIFETIME WARRANTY ON REPLACING THE BRAKE ACTUATOR PISTON ASSEMBLYAND THE PUMP MOTOR, I WAS TOLD IT WAS NOT THESE PARTS BUT THE ACCUMULATOR WHICH NEEDED REPLACED. THE CAR IS UNSAFE TO DRIVE AND WILL GO OUT AT ANY GIVEN TIME. I FEEL SINCE THE DEALERSHIP " MCLOUGHLIN CHRYSLER JEEP" SERVICE WRITERS ARE ON "OMMISSION" AND NOT HOURLY WAGES, THAT THEY ARE TELLING ME I HAVE TO SPEND OVER $600 TO REPLACE A PART THAT SHOULD BE COVERED ON THIS SAFETY RECALL. THE DEALERSHIP IS TRYING TO MAKE MONEY OFF ME INSTEAD OF FIXING THE PART THAT IS OUT ON MY CAR. *TR
