THE BRAKE MOTOR MAKES A NOISE, THE PEDAL IS HARD. WHEN I TOOK IT TO THE DEALERSHIP BECAUSE THERE IS A LIFETIME WARRANTY ON REPLACING THE BRAKE ACTUATOR PISTON ASSEMBLYAND THE PUMP MOTOR, I WAS TOLD IT WAS NOT THESE PARTS BUT THE ACCUMULATOR WHICH NEEDED REPLACED. THE CAR IS UNSAFE TO DRIVE AND WILL GO OUT AT ANY GIVEN TIME. I FEEL SINCE THE DEALERSHIP " MCLOUGHLIN CHRYSLER JEEP" SERVICE WRITERS ARE ON "OMMISSION" AND NOT HOURLY WAGES, THAT THEY ARE TELLING ME I HAVE TO SPEND OVER $600 TO REPLACE A PART THAT SHOULD BE COVERED ON THIS SAFETY RECALL. THE DEALERSHIP IS TRYING TO MAKE MONEY OFF ME INSTEAD OF FIXING THE PART THAT IS OUT ON MY CAR. *TR
DT*: THE CONTACT STATED WHILE APPLYING THE BRAKE PEDAL THE BRAKES FAIL INTERMITTENTLY. THIS CAUSES A GREATER STOPPING DISTANCE. THERE IS A NHTSA RECALL, # 96V099000, REGARDING THE ABS. THE VEHICLE HAS THE SAME PROBLEMS AS INDICATED IN THE RECALL; HOWEVER IT IS NOT INCLUDED IN THE RECALL DUE TO THE VIN. NO REPAIRS HAVE BEEN MADE.
Steering

1992 CHRYSLER NEW YORKER 3.3 V6 WITH 68713 MILES DEVELOPED FUEL RAIL LEAK AND GASOLINE WAS DRIPPING ON TOP OF ENGINE, TOOK TO CHRYSLER DEALER, OTHER MODELS HAD SAME PROBLEM BUT NO RECALL ON THIS MODEL..CALLED CHRYSLER CUSTOMER SERVICE ON 7/12/2006 TO REPORT AND ASK FOR ASSISTANCE BUT WAS REFUSED DUE TO AGE OF VEHICLE. CHRYSLER REF#15149057 *JB

Airbags

DT*: THE CONTACT STATED THE AIRBAG WARNING LIGHT ILLUMINATED WITHOUT INCIDENT UPON STARTING THE ENGINE. ALTHOUGH THE DEALER WAS ALERTED, THE VEHICLE WAS NOT INSPECTED.
CONSUMER HAD AN ACCIDENT AT ABOUT 10 MPH, FRONT CRASH WITH MOST OF DAMAGE TO PASSENGER SIDE OF VEHICLE. AIRBAG DEPLOYED, CAUSING BURNS TO CONSUMER'S CHIN. FORCE OF AIRBAG CAUSED SEVERE DAMAGE TO CONSUMER'S NECK. CONSUMER WAS SITTING 10 INCHES AWAY FROM AIRBAG. *AK

Seat belts

BOTH FRONT SEAT BELTS WERE FRAYED IN THE SAME SPOT. IT WAS VERY VISIBLE NEAR THE SEAT BELT BUCKLE. ALSO, THE BELTS DID NOT RETRACT AFTER USAGE. *AK THE PLASTIC HOLDERS FOR THE BELTS NEAR THE DOORS HAD BROKEN PIECES MISSING WITH JAGGED EDGES REMAINING. THE BELTS DID NOT RETRACT IN THESE AREAS AND WERE ALWAYS BEING CAUGHT WHEN THE DOORS WERE CLOSED. THE PROBLEM WAS THE SAME ON BOTH THE PASSENGER AND DRIVER SIDE. *SC *JB
