The wire that holds the passenger side front seatbelt to the floor snapped in half. The truck has never been in any kind of accident. There has been a motor put in under warranty. After that a few months later the ac compressor died. Also the passenger side turbo oil return line started leaking. There is also a hard start when engine is cool. Nothing but problems. But the seatbelt is very important.
On February 16, 2024, The vehicle (F150 XLT Super Crew) that was being driven was going approximately 40 miles ph when an other vehicle came out of a side street who had a traffic stop sign. There were two school buses blocking their view and my view of anyone coming out of the development. My vehicle hit head-on the other vehicle and I blacked out. No Airbag Driver side deployed, but the seat-belt tension-er fully pulled on me. I awoke with alarms going off and smoke in the cab and in the engine. Fire Department cut all wiring. I was taken out of the vehicle by Paramedics and taken to the hospital with fractured sternum and bruises. Police were on the seen and did a report with the other driver at fault. Insurance company proceeded to have the vehicle towed and inspected and totaled the vehicle. Did not have vehicle inspected by independent company that I know of. Police report stated no air bag deployment. Hospital report showed no air bag deployment. Issues a year earlier with engine replacement by dealership under manufacturer warranty due to engine failure. No other known issues appeared for the failure.
The contact owns a 2018 Ford F-150. The contact stated that while driving at 60 MPH, the vehicle hydroplaned as the contact lost control of the vehicle. As the contact struggled to regain control of the vehicle, the rear of the vehicle crashed into the left of the highway retainer wall. As a result, the vehicle spun out across three lanes as the front end of the vehicle hit the right retainer wall. The air bags deployed upon impact; however, both the front driver and front passenger seat belts independently unclipped during the accident. The contact stated that once the vehicle came to a stop after hitting the second wall, both seat belts were unbuckled. Both vehicle occupants were taken to the hospital via an ambulance. The contact was treated for a concussion, pain in the left shoulder, and a torn LCL on the left knee. The passenger suffered a broken right hand, concussion, pain in the neck, and bruising on the torso. A police report was filed. The vehicle was towed from the scene to an independent mechanic where it remained in their possession. Both the dealer and the manufacturer were notified of the failure; the manufacturer gave the contact a case number. The manufacturer then referred the contact to the NHTSA Hotline for assistance. The vehicle had yet to be repaired. The failure mileage was approximately 118,000.
Drivers seat seatbelt receiver will not accept and/or lock seatbelt
The contact's husband owned a 2018 Ford F-150. The contact stated that while her husband was driving at 62 MPH, he hit the back of the semi-truck on the front driver which sent the vehicle to tailspin and caused her husband to hit the semi-truck for a second time. The second collision sent the vehicle into another tailspin before coming to a complete halt. A police report was filed. According to the police department investigation, the airbag inflator had deployed which struck her husband's forehead. The investigation also determined that her husband's injuries were not consistent with proper airbag deployment. The report also noticed that both the air bag and air bag inflator were found on the floor near the rear passenger side seat. In addition, the report showed bruising constant with the lower lap belt locking but the driver did not have any bruising/burns from the upper seatbelt. The contact was pronounced dead on the scene and was taken to a moratorium. The vehicle was taken to an independent tow yard and deemed a total loss by insurance. The dealer nor the manufacturer had yet to be notified of the failure. The failure mileage was 36,667.
I had a front end collision with my truck. The damage was a direct hit on the airbag sensor, and my airbags nor my seatbelts deployed. I was going about 45 to 50. The pre-collision warning appeared right before I hit the vehicle but no automatic braking. The body shop that has my vehicle had safety concerns because my vehicle took the brunt of the crash right on the airbag sensor. No airbags or anything deployed, but the sensor was broken in the accident. The concern is if the sensor was hit directly, why didn't it send a signal to through the system to deploy safety restraint systems. I called Ford to inform them of my concerns. After going through several people, I was finally given a case number CAS37213430 after days of trying to get them to take me seriously. They told me to take it to a Ford dealer to have it checked, but it is wrecked so how will they check it. My concern is that it didn't deploy the restraints because obviously wasn't working properly. I couldn't get all my pics to load so have more.
WHILE VEHICLE IS SITTING STATIONARY OR PARKED. DURING RAINY WEATHER WATER LEAKS IN AT TOP OF REAR DOOR AT THE TOP LATCH WHERE IT RUNS DOWN THROUGH THE PANEL EXITING AT THE FIRST SEAM WHERE IT RUNS DOWN THE OUTSIDE OF THE DOOR PANEL TO THE MAT. THE SEAT BELT BEHIND THE PANEL GETS WET AND WATER GETS ON THE ELECTRIC DOOR LOCK WINDOW CONTROLS. THE WATER RUNS FORWARD TO THE FRONT PASSENGER FLOOR WHERE IT COLLECTS (BY THE GALLON) UNDER AND ON TOP OF THE FLOOR MAT.
2018 FORD F-150 IN MOTION APPROXIMATELY 45-50 MPH. STRUCK BY ONCOMING VEHICLE. AIRBAGS DID NOT DEPLOY AND SEATBELT FAILED TO WORK PROPERLY. THE CONSUMER PROVIDED PHOTOS.
ON 8/11/2018 I WAS INVOLVE IN A REALLY BAD WITH MY NEW 2018 FORD F150 PLATINUM I WAS COMING HOME AN IT WAS RAINING ALL OF A SUDDEN THE PRECOLLISION SYSTEM THAT ALERTS ME STARTED ACTING UP I THEN APPLY BRAKES THAT WAS THE WORSE MISTAKE THE TRUCKS DID NOT BRAKE IT SLAM MY BRAKES SO HARD THAT MADE MY TRUCK FISH TALE OUT OF CONTROL THAT THREW ME TOWARDS A CONCRETE WALL AT SPEEDS 65 MILES THE WORSE THING IS THAT NOT ONE AIRBAG DEPLOYED THE ONLY AIRBAG THAT WENT OFF WAS THE REAR SEAT BELT SOME EXPERTS HAD SAID THAT MY TRUCK SHOULD HAVE NEVER ACTED THAT WAY UNLESS THERE IS SOME KIND OF MALFUNCTION I REACH OUT TO FORD BUT NO ANSWER AS OF NOW
HAVE ALREADY CONTACTED YOUR ORGANIZATION (11129828) BUT NEED TO ADD SOME NEW INFORMATION I HAVE DISCOVERED. THIS TRUCK WAS INVOLVED IN A SIDE SWIPE ACCIDENT ON 9-16-2018. ALL AIRBAGS WERE DEPLOYED. ABOUT 5-10 MINUTES AFTER THE WRECK THE INSIDE OF THE TRUCK WAS ON FIRE. THE FIRE DEPARTMENT WAS CALLED AND PUT THE FIRE OUT. AT THAT TIME THE FIREMAN STATED THEY FELT THE AIRBAG ON THE DRIVERS SIDE HAD STARTED THE FIRE. UPON LOOKING AT THE TRUCK YESTERDAY, I COULD SEE THAT IT WAS REALLY THE SEAT BACK OF THE DRIVERS SEAT THAT BURNED THE MOST. AT THE TIME OF THE FIRE, THE TRUCK WAS NOT RUNNING AND WAS STILL SITTING IN THE SPOT IT CAME TO REST IN AFTER THE ACCIDENT.
TL* THE CONTACT OWNS A 2018 FORD F-150. THE CONTACT STATED THAT ANOTHER VEHICLE CRASHED INTO HER VEHICLE, CAUSING IT TO FISHTAIL. THE REAR DRIVER'S SIDE TIRE WENT INTO AN EMBANKMENT. THERE WAS A STUMP IN THE EMBANKMENT THAT PUNCTURED A HOLE IN THE REAR DRIVER'S SIDE TIRE. THE VEHICLE WAS UNABLE TO BE DRIVEN. THE DRIVER'S AND PASSENGER SIDE AIR BAGS HAD NOT DEPLOYED. THE CURTAIN AIR BAGS DEPLOYED. WITHIN A SHORT PERIOD OF TIME, A FIRE ERUPTED FROM THE AREA OF THE DRIVER'S SIDE WINDOW TO THE PASSENGER SIDE. THE FLAMES CONSUMED THE CABIN OF THE VEHICLE. THE DRIVER AND FRONT PASSENGER WERE ABLE TO EXIT THE VEHICLE. THERE WERE NO INJURIES. THE DEALER (HERITAGE FORD, 1600 SHELBURNE RD, SOUTH BURLINGTON, VT 05403, 802-865-8140) WAS CONTACTED MORE THAN TWICE AND ASKED THAT THE MANUFACTURER BE CONTACTED. THE VERMONT STATE POLICE TOWED THE VEHICLE TO THEIR YARD FOR INVESTIGATION. THE VEHICLE WAS LATER INCLUDED IN NHTSA CAMPAIGN NUMBER: 18V568000 (STRUCTURE, SEAT BELTS), ALTHOUGH THE CONTACT WAS NOT NOTIFIED. THE MANUFACTURER WAS CONTACTED WHEN THE CRASH OCCURRED; HOWEVER, THE CONTACT HAD NOT RECEIVED A RESPONSE IN A REASONABLE TIME FRAME. THE FAILURE MILEAGE WAS 10,000.
AFTER I WAS REAR ENDED MY 2018 F150 STARTED SMOKING AND CAUGHT FIRE AT THE BASE OF THE POST BESIDE THE DRIVER SEAT WHERE THE CARPET AND PLASTIC SIDE COVER COME TOGETHER. THIS HAPPENED WITHIN 10 MINUTES OF THE CRASH. I WAS TRAVELING APPROXIMATELY 10 MPH ON A 65 MPH 4 LANE, SLOWING DUE TO TRAFFIC CONGESTION WHEN I WAS REAR ENDED BY A 2007 CHEVY PICKUP TRAVELLING AT ABOUT 60 MPH. HITTING MY TRUCK HARD ENOUGH TO LIFT THE FRONT END AND LAND ON THE 4 FOOT HIGHWAY BARRIER IN THE FRONT, MY TRUCK CONTINUED AND THEN STUCK THE TRUCK IN FRONT OF ME WITH MY PASSENGER DOOR CAUSING THE REAR OF THE TRUCK TO ALSO LAND ON THE CONCRETE BARRIER. I WAS HELPED FROM THE TRUCK THRU THE RIGHT SIDE BACK DOOR BY THE DRIVER OF THE TRUCK MY VEHICLE IMPACTED. OFFICER WAS ON SITE IN ABOUT 3 MINUTES AND WANTED TO MOVE MY TRUCK FIRST, HE ASKED IF I HAD ANYTHING I NEEDED OUT OF THE VEHICLE. TROOPER AND I WENT TO GET MY BELONGINGS WHEN WE NOTICED THE SMOKE IN THE CAB. I WAS NOT ABLE TO GET ANYTHING FROM THE TRUCK BECAUSE THE FIRE STARTED AND SPREAD QUICKLY. FIRE WAS ONLY ON THE INSIDE OF THE VEHICLE.
WAS INVOLVED IN A MOTOR VEHICLE ACCIDENT 8/16/18. WAS STRUCK GOING NORTHBOUND BY A VEHICLE THAT RAN A RED LIGHT GOING EAST BOUND. IMPACT STRUCK DRIVER SIDE FRONT CORNER AS WELL AS REAR DRIVER SIDE BEDSIDE. SIDE CURTAIN AIR BAGS DEPLOYED AND SEAT AIRBAGS. AFTER COLLISION GOT OUT OF VEHICLE AND IN 3 MINS THE SEAT BELT TENSIONER IGNITED AND STARTED A FIRE ON THE DRIVER SIDE FLOOR BOARD. PUT OUT FIRE AND THE CAB HARNESS. B PILLAR MOLDING, SEAT BELT, FLOOR CARPET AND MOLDING WERE ALL MELTED AND DESTROYED. VEHICLE IS BEING REPAIRED AT THE MOMENT AND HOPE THIS LIFE THREATENING ISSUE IS ADDRESSED BY FORD. PLEASE SEE ATTACHED PICTURES FOR DAMAGES. THANK YOU.

TL* THE CONTACT OWNS A 2018 FORD F-150. WHILE DRIVING 55 MPH, THE CONTACT CRASHED INTO A DEER AND THE DRIVER'S SIDE FLOORBOARD CAUGHT ON FIRE. THE AIR BAGS DEPLOYED. A POLICE REPORT WAS NOT FILED. NO INJURIES WERE SUSTAINED. THE CONTACT'S WIFE EXTINGUISHED THE FIRE. THE VEHICLE WAS TAKEN TO AN INDEPENDENT MECHANIC WHERE THE CONTACT WAS INFORMED THAT THE SEAT BELT PRETENSIONER WAS THE CAUSE OF THE FIRE. THE VEHICLE WAS REPAIRED. THE VEHICLE WAS ALSO TAKEN TO NEVADA AUTO MALL (2501 E AUSTIN BLVD, NEVADA, MO 64772, (417) 667-3385) WHERE THE VEHICLE'S COMPUTER WAS REPROGRAMMED. THE MANUFACTURER WAS MADE AWARE OF THE FAILURE. DRIVING HOME A DEER RAN INTO DRIVER SIDE OF VEHICLE CAUSING MINOR DAMAGE AND SIDE CURTAIN AIR BAGS DEPLOYED. PULLED OVER AND VEHICLE CALLED 911. AFTER INSPECTING VEHICLE AND WITNESSES FROM ACROSS THE ROAD MADE SURE WE WERE SAFE, IT WAS DETERMINED THE VEHICLE COULD BE DRIVEN. THIS TOOK ABOUT 5 TO 10 MINUTES. WHILE ATTEMPTING TO START THE VEHICLE, THE PASSENGER WENT TO REMOVE A PURSE FROM THE BACK PASSENGER SIDE SEAT AND NOTICED A FIRE ON THE BOTTOM OF THE POST BETWEEN THE FRONT AND REAR DOOR AND WHERE SEAT BELT RESTRAINT IS LOCATED. IMMEDIATE EVACUATION WAS NEEDED AND A SECOND 911 CALL WAS PLACED. THE TRUCK WENT UP IN COMPLETE FLAMES IN A MATTER OF MINUTES AND IS A COMPLETE LOSS.
