The defect: Ford Motor Company (Ford) is recalling certain 2022 F-53 and F-59 vehicles. The rear brake caliper attachment bolts may not be tightened correctly, which can allow the caliper to loosen and possibly damage the wheel or brake lines.
The risk: A damaged wheel can result in a loss of tire pressure. A damaged brake line can cause a brake fluid leak and reduce brake performance. Either condition increases the risk of a crash.
The remedy: Dealers will inspect and tighten the rear caliper bolts, as necessary, free of charge. In addition, any damaged bolts will be replaced, free of charge. Owner notification letters were mailed March 27, 2023. Owners may contact Ford customer service at 1-866-436-7332. Ford's number for this recall is 23S11.

The defect: Ford Motor Company (Ford) is recalling certain 2022-2023 E-350, E-450, and 2021-2022 F-59 vehicles. The paint along the weld seam of the fuel tank may peel and lead to corrosion of the exposed metal, which can result in a fuel leak.
The risk: A fuel leak in the presence of an ignition source increases the risk of a fire.
The remedy: Dealers will inspect the fuel tank and replace, if necessary, free of charge. Owner notification letters were mailed on April 14, 2023. Owners may contact Ford customer service at 1-866-436-7332. Ford's number for this recall is 22S76.

STEERING: STEERING WHEEL/HANDLE BAR

The defect: Ford Motor Company (Ford) is recalling certain 2022 F-53 Motorhome Stripped Chassis, and F-59 Commercial Stripped Chassis vehicles. The steering wheel attachment bolt may loosen and separate from the steering column, resulting in a loose or detached steering wheel.
The risk: A loose or detached steering wheel can result in a loss of steering control, increasing the risk of a crash.
The remedy: Ford will work with the final stage vehicle manufacturers to replace and tighten the steering wheel attachment bolt, free of charge. As of August 10, 2022, all 692 vehicles included in this recall have been remedied. No owner notification letters will be mailed. Owners may contact Ford customer service at 1-866-436-7332. Ford's number for this recall is 22S50.

Vehicle has had electrical issues since purchased new. Ford service center could not fix after several attempts. Customer service/ warranty was unhelpful. All issues surfaced prior to 60k miles. Has had about 6 battery replacements in less than a year. Now at 68k miles vehicle has been at shop for weeks and being told a new engine is needed. Ford shop services commercial vehicles but won’t replace engine. Vehicle has to be transported to another ford shop for repair. One of the engine issues identified was lifters. From other FedEx contractors and Ford service shops and dealers, this had become a common issue with the 7.3 engine but is not yet a recall issue. My vehicle has low miles and low idle time yet needs a new engine. We need some intervention with Ford, who is not holding itself accountable.

The contact owns a 2022 Ford F-59. The contact stated while driving 35 MPH, the vehicle was making an abnormally loud ticking sound. The vehicle lost motive power. There were unknown warning lights illuminated. The vehicle was taken to an independent mechanic, who determined that the engine needed to be replaced. The vehicle was taken to the local dealer, where it was diagnosed that lifters had failed. The vehicle was repaired. The manufacturer was contacted and assisted with the repairs. The failure mileage was approximately 64,000.

Was driving down the road, and has turned the ABS off, and TCS, along with the front cillision, lane keep, and cruise control off. There is 3 trucks in the fleet that have done the same thing before 10K miles.

Some 2021-2025 Expedition/Navigator/F-150/F-Super Duty/F-53 Motorhome/F59 Commercial Stripped Chassis/F-650/F-750/Transit vehicles equipped with a 2.7L/3.5L (non hybrid)/6.8L/7.3L engine and 2021-2026 E-Series may exhibit a rattle/scraping noise from the bellhousing area on start-up. Workshop Manual (WSM), Section 303-00 Engine System - General Information > Diagnosis and Testing and 303-06 > Starting System has been updated to address this condition. Additionally, WSM, Section 303-01 > Removal and Installation > Engine to Transmission Spacer Plate has been added to address this condition. Refer to the revised WSM sections for normal diagnosis.

POWER TRAIN

Some 2021-2025 F-150 vehicles equipped with a 5.0L/5.2L engine, 2021-2025 F-Super Duty/F-53 Motorhome/F59 Commercial Stripped Chassis vehicles equipped with a 6.8L/7.3L engine and 2021-2026 E-Series/F-650/F-750 vehicles equipped with a 7.3L engine may exhibit a rattle/scraping noise upon startup that may remain after the engine is running. This may be due to the starter motor drive gear not retracting after starting. To correct this condition, inspect the starter motor drive gear and shaft. If the starter motor drive gear slides back and forth by hand and/or shows signs of scoring or damage, replace the starter motor following Workshop Manual (WSM), Section 303-06 Starting System > Removal and Installation > Starter.
