The defect: ON CERTAIN MOTOR HOMES BUILT ON WORKHORSE CHASSIS AND EQUIPPED WITH GM 8.1L V8 ENGINES, IMPROPER HARDENING DURING THE HEAT TREATMENT PROCESS CAN CAUSE THE FUEL RAIL PULSE DAMPER RETAINER CLIP TO FRACTURE, RESULTING IN INADEQUATE RETENTION OF THE DAMPER. IF THE DAMPER BECOMES LOOSE, FUEL COULD BE PUMPED BY THE FUEL PUMP INTO THE UNDER HOOD AREA.
The risk: IN THE PRESENCE OF AN IGNITION SOURCE, A FIRE COULD RESULT.
The remedy: CHEVROLET AND WORKHORSE ARE HANDLING THE OWNER NOTIFICATION AND REMEDY FOR THIS CAMPAIGN (PLEASE SEE 06V225 AND 06V289). DEALERS WILL REPLACE THE FUEL RAIL PULSE DAMPER RETAINER CLIPS ON THESE ENGINES FREE OF CHARGE. The defect: CERTAIN MOTOR HOMES BUILT ON FORD E-450 CHASSIS FAIL TO COMPLY WITH THE REQUIREMENTS OF FEDERAL MOTOR VEHICLE SAFETY STANDARD NO. 120, 'TIRE SELECTION AND RIMS FOR MOTOR VEHICLES OTHER THAN PASSENGER CARS.' THE TIRE PRESSURE IS INCORRECTLY LISTED ON THE LABEL FOR THE REAR TIRES.
The risk: AT THE INCORRECTLY STATED PRESSURE, THE REAR TIRES ARE UNABLE TO SUPPORT THE GROSS AXLE WEIGHT RATING (GAWR) FOR THE REAR AXLE.
The remedy: OWNERS AND DEALERS WILL BE MAILED SUPPLEMENTARY TIRE LABELS CONTAINING THE CORRECT REAR TIRE INFLATION INFORMATION. OWNERS MAY CONTACT FORD AT 1-800-392-3673 OR FOUR WINDS AT 1-574-266-1111.

The defect: ON CERTAIN CLASS B AND CLASS C MOTOR HOMES, THE SPARE WHEELS CONTAIN AN INCORRECT OFFSET. THE CENTER OF THE WHEEL WAS WELDED IN THE WRONG POSITION.
The risk: THE WHEEL MAY RUB AGAINST THE BRAKE CALIPER WHICH COULD RESULT IN A BRAKE FAILURE INCREASING THE RISK OF A CRASH.
The remedy: THE SPARE WHEELS WILL BE REPLACED FREE OF CHARGE. THE RECALL BEAGN ON MAY 13, 2005. OWNERS MAY CONTACT FOUR WINDS AT 1-574-266-1111.

TL*THE CONTACT OWNS A 2005 FOUR WINDS CHATEAU. ON SEPTEMBER 28, 2007, WHILE DRIVING 60-65 MPH, THE REAR DRIVER SIDE TIRE BLEW OUT. ON OCTOBER 6, 2007, THE FRONT DRIVER SIDE TIRE BLEW OUT. THE REMAINING TWO TIRES HAD TO BE REPLACED BECAUSE THE BELT WAS VISIBLY HANGING FROM THE INSIDE OF THE TIRES. THE FAILURE DESTROYED ALL OF THE DRAINS UNDERNEATH THE VEHICLE AS WELL AS THE WIRING. THE CONTACT STILL HAS ONE OF THE TIRES. THE TIRE MAKE, MODEL, AND DOT NUMBER WERE UNAVAILABLE, HOWEVER, THE TIRE SIZE WAS ST225/75R15. THE TIRE FAILURE MILEAGE WAS 2,000. NO OTHER VEHICLE INFORMATION WAS AVAILABLE. UPDATED 12/12/2007 *BF UPDATED
