The defect: CERTAIN MOTOR HOMES EQUIPPED WITH NORCOLD REFRIGERATOR COOLING UNITS MODEL NUMBERS 1200LR AND 1200RIM WITH SERIAL NUMBERS BETWEEN 700000 AND 1008700 AND MANUFACTURED BETWEEN DECEMBER 1996 AND FEBRUARY 1999. THESE REFRIGERATORS CAN EXPERIENCE LOW CYCLE FATIGUE FAILURE WHICH CAN LEAD TO THE LIQUID SOLUTION SLOWLY LEAKING FROM THE SEALED, PRESSURIZED COOLING UNIT THROUGH A SMALL CRACK.
The risk: IF A LEAK OCCURS AND THE UNIT IS CONTINUALLY OPERATED, HYDROGEN GAS MAY BE EXPELLED AND CAN BE IGNITED, RESULTING IN A FIRE, POSSIBLY CAUSING SERIOUS INJURY OR DEATH.
The remedy: NORCOLD WILL NOTIFY ITS CUSTOMERS AND PROVIDE A REPLACEMENT COOLING UNIT FREE OF CHARGE. OWNERS WHO TAKE THEIR VEHICLES TO AN AUTHORIZED DEALER ON AN AGREED UPON SERVICE DATE AND DO NOT RECEIVE THE FREE REMEDY WITHIN A REASONABLE TIME SHOULD CONTACT NORCOLD SERVICE CENTER AT 1-800-667-3005.

TL* THE CONTACT OWNS A 1996 GEORGIE BOY CRUISE MASTER RV. THERE WAS A PROBLEM WITH THE CALIBER STICKING. THE BRAKE DISK BECAME STUCK, AND HOT TO THE POINT THAT THEY WERE BURNING OFF THE BRAKE PADS. THE BRAKES BEGAN TO SMOKE AND LOCK CAUSING AN ABRUPT STOP WITHOUT WARNING. THE CONTACT HAD NOT HEARD OF THE INFORMATION PROVIDED IN THE OWNERS SERVICE MANUAL THAT STATED TO GREASE THE BRAKES. THE FAILURE MILEAGE WAS 22,000. THE CURRENT MILEAGE WAS 40,000. UPDATED 3/17/10 *CN UPDATED 06/17/10*JB

TL*THE CONTACT OWNS A 1996 GEORGIE BOY CRUISE MASTER. WHILE DRIVING AT ANY SPEED THE STOPPING DISTANCE EXTENDED WHEN THE BRAKE PEDAL WAS DEPRESSED. THE DEALER INSPECTED THE VEHICLE BUT THEY WERE UNABLE TO DIAGNOSE THE FAILURE. THEY REPLACED THE REAR BRAKE PADS; HOWEVER, THE FAILURE CONTINUED TO OCCUR. AS OF OCTOBER 9, 2007, THE DEALER HAD NOT REPAIRED THE VEHICLE. THE FAILURE MILEAGE WAS 29,000 AND THE CURRENT MILEAGE WAS 39,000.
