2015 Heartland Elk Ridge Owner Complaints

Reports submitted to NHTSA by owners and drivers, shown in full

Data refreshed

Complaints on fileComplaints are reports submitted to NHTSA by owners and drivers. NHTSA does not verify most reports before publishing them, and a complaint does not establish that a defect exists. Volume is influenced by how many of a vehicle were sold, how long it has been on the road, and how much attention an issue has received.

WAS TRAVELING EAST BOUND I-10 13 MILES EAST OF DESERT CENTER CA. DRIVING AT 60 MILES PER HOUR MY LEFT FRONT TIRE ON THE TRAILER HAD A CATASTROPHIC FAILURE. I PULLED TO THE SIDE GOT OUT AND UPON INSPECTION OF OTHER TIRES I FOUND ANOTHER TIRE WITH BUBBLE ON THE SIDE WALL. CLEARLY SHOWING SEPARATION JUST ABOVE THE BEAD. AFTER GETTING THOSE TWO TIRES CHANGED AND TRYING TO GET HOME 100 MILES DOWN THE RODE THE LEFT REAR TIRE HAD A CATASTROPHIC FAILURE. THESE TIRES WERE BRAND NEW ON THE TRAILER WHEN WE BOUGHT THEM. THEY HAD LESS THAN 3000 MILES. I ALWAYS MONITOR TIRE PRESSURES ON MY VEHICLES MY TRAILERS WHEN STORED I MOVE THE TIRES MONTHLY SO THEY DON'T FLAT SPOT I COVER THEM TO KEEP THE SUN OFF THEM. I CHECK FOR ABNORMAL WEAR AND SIGNS OF CRACKING. THERE WAS NONE OF THIS. I HAVE BEEN TOWING TRAILERS FOR OVER 30 YEARS. I HAVE NEVER HAD THIS KIND OF PROBLEM.
